EVE Online targeted by LulzSec

lordsilence (682367) writes | more than 3 years ago

Sony 1

lordsilence writes "It seems LulzSec is now targeting CCP Games Hf with a denial of service attack. The extent of this attack is yet not known but the game cluster and EVEOnline.com website are down at the writing of this post..

A possible reason for targeting CCP could be the affiliation with Sony. CCP recently announced during E3 that their upcoming game Dust514 would be Sony Playstation 3 exclusive."

EvE Online Attacked (1)

After all the money CCP and those who play EvE Online has donated to worldwide events to help humans in need, this sort of attack is simply stupid.

I have not heard of LulzSec attacking WoW or any other PC gaming services, so why EvE? Just because of the Sony or PS3 game tie-in? That is not really news since us EvE players have known about it for almost a year. Dust514 will change the way people game as it will let two types of gaming merge into a single universe, which ought to be very enjoyable for everyone once it is in place.
