While this could be a concern with any subscribtion-based media service, Allworth contends that 'the way we consume music is fundamentally different to the way we consume movies and TV.' He also points out that bait-n-switch potential is there regardless of Spotify's intentions due to pressure content companies can extert by raising prices or removing songs from your library. This pressure may already be happening in the case of Netflix."
