The time displayed on most Android phone is wrong

Anonymous Coward writes | more than 2 years ago

Android 2

An anonymous reader writes "According to astrophysicist Dr. Neil DeGrasse Tyson, the time that's displayed on most Android handset is wrong by exactly 15 seconds because leap seconds aren't taken into account. This is a known bug that was reported to Google back in December 2009 that is still waiting to be fixed."

You're now ahead 15 seconds of everyone else, congratulations! (You should by the way not use time-dependent services, as that would disclose your advantage. In some countries, you could even be suspect of illegal behavior.)
