Kid killed by unplugged power supply?

Idle 2

JakeBurn (2731457) writes "This story is somewhat confusing as its obvious the reporters don't know the right questions to ask, but a 16 yo supposedly died by opening his computer after it was shut down and unplugged. His parents said he was scavenging for parts for another computer when it happened. From the article I'm unsure why he would have opened the PSU itself when taking it out but never heard of someone dying from handling one."

I know nothing about power supplies, but I heard that significant amounts of electricity can hang around in CRT monitors (and you should not dismantle them).
