DavidGilbert99 writes "Apple is refusing to say how many of the three million iPad sales over the weekend were iPad minis.
As a result analysts have been giving their opinion about what the likely split is. According to Gene Munster from Piper Jaffray, anywhere between 2 and 2,5 million of the total was accounted for by the smaller iPad mini.
This led to some asking if it meant the end for the full-sized iPad?
Well no, that is certainly not the case. The iPad mini was an all-new product while the iPad 4 was simply an upgrade to the iPad 3 so the mini was always going to dominate early sales figures.
Yes some people will likely buy the iPad mini instead of the iPad, but a lot more people will buy the iPad mini instead of the Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire HD, meaning Apple is likely to increase its share of the tablet market with the full-sized iPad continuing to sell in big numbers."
