Only Google+ Users Guaranteed Entry to SFPD Event

theodp (442580) writes "The San Francisco Appeal reports that an invitation for A Citywide Bike Theft Workshop urged the community to come to Google's SF office to hear tips from the San Francisco Police Department and other groups about how to protect yourself from becoming a bicycle theft victim. But there was a catch. According to the original RSVP page (subsequently changed), 'guaranteed, priority admission' to the bicycle theft event was only available to those who'd done 'five new reviews of Bay Area business on Google+ Local.' Others wishing to attend had to acknowledge that 'No, I didn't do any reviews, so I understand I'll only receive a spot if there's additional room left over.' So, what's next? Priority access to Fire Department ambulances for Google Apps developers?"
