AXE and Buzz Aldrin Announce Apollo Space Sweepstakes

Space 1

RocketAcademy writes "Apollo 11 lunar-module pilot Buzz Aldrin joined AXE, a personal-grooming brand of Unilever, to announce the AXE Apollo Sweepstakes, which will select 22 winners to become astronauts on the XCOR Lynx Mk II spacecraft.

“Space travel for everyone is the next frontier in the human experience,” Aldrin said. “I’m thrilled that AXE is giving the young people of today such an extraordinary opportunity to experience some of what I’ve encountered in space.”

According to XCOR Aerospace, AXE will select one winner following the Super Bowl on February 3. Twenty-one additional winners will be selected later on. 100 early-stage winners will attend the AXE Apollo Space Academy in Orlando, Florida in December 2013.

Private citizens can also earn a chance to fly on the Lynx through Citizens in Space, a non-profit project of the United States Rocket Academy, which has purchased 10 flights for citizen astronauts."

Please, help me go to space! (1)

Hello everyone!! I'm taking part in this competition and already ranking in the 4th position for France. Please, help me gather more votes and make my dream become a reality by voting for me here: [] Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by space, always raising my eyes to the sky at night, dreaming about going there one day. Growing up I studied hard to maybe one day achieve this goal. I have two masters, one in thermal engineering, which I did in France, my country of origin; one in aerospace engineering, which I did at Purdue University, in the USA, working on a NASA project in advanced life support systems. I'm currently in Germany, working towards my PhD at the German Space Agency and designing a greenhouse for the Moon to enable humans to live there one day. Along the way, I also did internships at the European Space Agency and Airbus. Last Summer I attended the International Space University Summer School, working in partnership with the NASA Kennedy Space Center on an awesome project of spaceports in space to make space transportation cheaper and facilitate regular access to space for anybody. I'm also a private pilot and can fly small airplanes carrying up to 3 passengers. Thank you for reading and sharing the link if you wish! :)
