Virtualbox for tax software

slashdyke (873156) writes | about a year and a half ago

Windows 2

slashdyke (873156) writes "My main and only computer system runs Ubuntu 12.04LTS. I like it, it works well, and it runs almost all the software I need it to. The exception to this rule, happenes in about a month from now at tax time. I use a windows based incometax package. I have yet to find one that works in linux for Canadian taxes.

So, I googled installing windows on a linux box, and up popped virtualbox. having never heard of it before, I thought I would ask how it works for you? It it a good solution? Is it the only solution? Is it a safe solution, ie, does it leave my system open to windows based virii?

Please tell me what you know... Thanks!"

While my experience is from "before", I haven't liked VirtualBox. VMWare Player has given me generally better results.

Virtual Box is good (1)

Virtual Box is great and free, I like it.
