Oracle 1

Billly Gates (198444) writes "Oracle is still making previous versions before 4.0 free of charge, but later versions are for personal and academic use only. Since it is based on the GPL-version 2 is this possible?"

Extension pack (1)

tepples (727027) | about a year and a half ago | (#42841351)

The downloads page [virtualbox.org] states that VirtualBox itself is GPL, and only the extension pack (USB passthrough and RDP) is subject to the PUEL. This arrangement has been in place throughout the entire 4.x series as far as I know. Prior to 4.x, there were two separate editions: VirtualBox OSE (GPL) and VirtualBox bundled with what is now the Extension Pack (PUEL).
