NBN Co in storm in a coffee cup

pcritter (2606235) writes "With the Australian Federal Election looming at the end of the year, the $37bn National Broadband Network hangs in the balance, with the Incumbent Labor Party vowing to finish the job, while the rival Coalition considers it a waste of money and threatened to bury the project. True to Parkinson's law, the debate has reached a new level of absurdity when the opposition party, unable to argue on technical merits, slammed NBN Co, the company tasked with building the NBN, for buying $164,000 worth of Coffee Machines. In return, NBN Co issued a press release defending the decision saying it increases productivity by saving employees buying coffee outside and only costs $0.08 per cup per person per working day. The NBN is a 10 year project that aims to connect 93% of Australia to a wholesale Fibre-To-The-Home network."
