Firms Roll Out Mobile Apps Before Desktop Versions

Cara_Latham writes "Smartphones and tablets are so popular now, financial-software developers are designing mobile application first and desktop versions second. By 2015, new mobile apps for banking and investing will see daylight at twice the rate of desktop apps, according to Pershing, the clearing arm of Bank of New York Mellon BK +1.29% . Among the financial-service leaders in mobile-app development are E-Trade and Bank of America's BAC +1.84% Merrill Lynch."
