In the 300 years since this "three-body problem" was first recognized, just three families of solutions have been found. Now, two physicists have discovered 13 new families. It's quite a feat in mathematical physics, and it could conceivably help astrophysicists understand new planetary systems."

Is this a logical extension like Rock-paper-scissors-lizard-Spock is to Rock-paper-scissors?

Clearly something to ponder when I have less beer in my belly. Perhaps I will read the original article it sounds interesting.

Back in the 60s and very early 70s this was totally unknown. The only way to tinker with it was on an analog computer. OpAmps, resistors, inverters, a plug board and an O'scope.
