Isn't it "SoylentNews... is people!"?

But yeah, whatever... The main thing is that THEY'RE LIVE! [soylentnews.org]

crutchy, you don't like the name? I don't either. I've not seen the movie and I don't think the name is accessible. The name isn't permanent, though. Last I heard, the plan was to allow the userbase to select a name. It's things like this that make it a true community-driven site. So why not head over there and get involved?

One advantage on the other site is that you have a say in what the site is eventually named. Did DICE ask your permission to force Beta upon you?

No, I thought not... Asked for comments - then ignored them.

good news, everyone (4, Interesting)

I am so pleased that this came together as quickly and smoothly as it did. Getting old-ass slashcode up and running was no picnic, but it is so worth it to give this community a home it can call its own.

Submission functionality still buggy: failed on me.

Yes, it's still buggy. You will find bugs. A lot of them are identified and will be dealt with very soon.

Kudos to the SoyLent team for getting the old code base working. Submission failed for me too, but I can wait. I was able to comment right away.

Has Dice restored some old code? Last time I commented here (a couple of weeks ago) the various things that I remember seeing on the Comment screen were quite different from what I'm seeing now.

Already blocked by my workplace for "personal websites". I hate corporate censorship.

I'd prefer not to specify for preference to keeping my job. But a big company.

I found the task easy - my job was to stand on the side-lines and shout encouragement. But the guys doing the hard work pulled it off brilliantly, and are probably unaware of my support! As you said - welcome to our new home.
