Pluto No Longer a Planet

Space

StarvingSE writes "An interesting article on space.com reveals that astronomers today have thrown out the old notion of what the definition of a planet is. This new definition does not include Pluto as a planet, instead fitting into a new "dwarf planet" catergory. FTA:

"Capping years of intense debate, astronomers resolved today to demote Pluto in a wholesale redefinition of planethood that is a victory of scientific reasoning over historic and cultural influences."

Looks like we're now living in an eight planet solar system!"
