plazman30 (531348) writes "I have two different coworkers that have both gotten emails in the last 2 weeks from Comcast, their ISP. The email states that they have violated copyright law by downloading copyrighted material via bittorrent. Comcast was able to name the exact file that they were downloading, and it further goes on to state that the email is being sent on behalf of the copyright holder.

Has this happened to anyone else in the slashdot.org community? Is Comcast just handing over user's IP addresses to the MPAA, RIAA and God knows who else?

Times like this, I'm glad I have DSL."
