Way to go, greedheads. (1)

It's stuff like this that makes me happy that I have not purchased cable TV for the last eight years. I'm also very happy that I have not wasted money on a HDTV that may or may not work when someone decides to turn the screws. DRM is a market killer because it creates an unacceptable level of uncertainty. Netflicks, theaters and an old SDTV have provided me with more entertainment that I have time for. I would have gone for Netflicks earlier if DeCSS was not against the law in the US. I'd like to have HDTV, but I'm not about to risk much money getting it.

There's a great round up story here between this, NBC's greed [slashdot.org] and YouTube's opposite tracking [slashdot.org] . The greedheads are going to lose this one and they are going to lose it soon unless they pass a new copywrong law. Public opinion is decidedly against that.
