thefickler (1030556) writes "At yesterday's media event, Steve Jobs announced that Apple would be lowering the price of the 8GB iPhone from $599 to $399, and while even as of this morning he said "no" to rebates, he has now blinked. In an open letter to iPhone customers, Steve Jobs has announced that Apple will give $100 credits in Apple stores for future purchases to those who paid $599 for the 8GB iPhone. You must not have received any other consideration (as some reported they have) to qualify."
