Software companies sues popular Australian forum

Pugzly (441999) writes "In a recent announcement on the Whirlpool front page, it appears that accounting software maker 2clix is sueing the founder of the forums as the founder "allowed statements 'relating to the Plaintiff and its software product that are both false and malicious' to be published on the Whirlpool forums."
Hopefully sanity will prevail, but it is the legal system..."

I can't believe a company would stoop so low as to sue the owner of a forum where people discuss their software. Really lame.

Dumb, yes, but has it happened before? definitely.

The support on the site is absolutely massive, 180k users, the fighting fund would be a few thou by now. I've put my donation in, i mean even if its not towards the legal fund, the site's helped me with info in the past :)
