Google sponsors $30M Lunar X-Prize

Rocketeer writes "Esther Wojcicki reports that the X-Prize Foundation will today announce the Google Lunar X-Prize: a $30M prize sponsored by Google for the first private entity to soft-land a rover on the Moon. The formal announcement will be made at the WIRED NextFest currently being held in Los Angeles."
