Senate Passes Telecom Immunity bill

zehnra (1076641) writes | more than 6 years ago

Government 2

zehnra (1076641) writes "The U.S. Senate this afternoon passed the FISA Amendments Act, broadly expanding the president's warrantless surveillance authority and unconstitutionally granting retroactive immunity to telecommunications companies that participated in the president's illegal domestic wiretapping program. The House of Representatives passed the same bill last month, and President Bush is expected to sign the legislation into law shortly."

It's been too long coming. I don't know how much longer I could carry out my terrorist activities in secret. It's like carrying around a super special birthday present, and you're just dying to spill the deadly secret into the city's water supply, but you can't--not until the big day. At last, perhaps someone will relieve me of the enormous pressure of this burden and allow the joy that is plotting the destruction of Holy Land 2 to emerge through the blood and tears of the burning infidels.
