EMUE Technologies (Australia) http://www.emue.com/ developed the card as a way of defeating the various forms of credit card fraud. When a user enters a PIN into the card the display shows a one-time number with which to authenticate each online credit card transaction.
The new card is being trialled by Visa in Britain, Israel, Switzerland and Italy. The card will be sold to banking customers for about $18 — $30 US each.
