Can IBM Take On Google, Microsoft With iNotes?

0110011001110101 as a former lotus notes user... (171 comments)

as a former lotus notes user... no thanks, i'll keep gmail.

you can improve all you want, but I'll take occassional outages from google if it means being able to easily figure out the interface when it is up.

IBM might claim 100% uptime but if I have to spend 150% more time figuring out their wacked out interface and shite product, i'd rather take my chances with google.

Comcast In Deal Talks With NBC Universal

0110011001110101 most annoying leno ever (160 comments)

if nbc will be run anything like comcasts cable modem division, I assume I will get to watch about 10 minutes of jay lenos new show, then nbc will "go down", at which point I will call into nbc, ask them what the problem is, have them tell me they can see my tv just fine so the problem must be on my end. I'll restart my cable box, but no change. After another 20 minutes on the phone they will tell me more people in my area have reported an issue and that a technician is on the way to the main nbc studio. 45 minutes later nbc will start broadcasting again and the show will be over.

iPhone Gets .Net App Development

0110011001110101 Re:Launch Times? (327 comments)

amen to that... I've been in the same world, xml hasn't crossed my mind in years. And don't forget things that aren't quite as new but still make coding fun, like generics, delegates, extension methods, nullable types, linq (in some of its forms)... the list goes on and on.

Netbooks Have a Huge Impact On the PC Industry

0110011001110101 Re:It's fairly obvious why they are so successful. (416 comments)

buy new dvds? Hmmm, one hour and 20 minutes of video on average porn video, divided by the actual number of minutes needed by me before I don't need it anymore, factor in possibly accidental re-watch of any given segment from day to day, multiplied by the number of times per week I'll be using each sement, appropriate math here to figure out how many days that equals, divide if needed to see how many years that would last...

would you look at that, its time for a new netbook WAAAAYY before its time for a new dvd...

Watered Down Phishing Protection In IPhone OS 3.1?

0110011001110101 Re:I've got built-in phishing protection. (98 comments)

hahah silly man. I have 9 different banks bookmarked in my browser to fool people who break into my house, log into my computer and scan my favorites to see where I bank. There are like "beyotch why steal your tv when i can find out where you bank boooyyyy!". But then they see my 9 bookmarks, and they are like.. oh f#*$ this guy is smart, but still they start clicking. At some point they will click on my wachovia link (most robbers bank with wachovia) and decide they need to check their account balance.. bad news for them because thats my own fishing site and they are unknowingly giving me their password... hah! suckaz! The funny part is, not one of those nine bookmars are my bank, actually my banks website is spelled out with random letter positions from each of those 9 bookmarks. I look each one up and then build a string from that, then copy and paste that into my browser. You are thinking, what if you cant remember all the letter positions in each bookmark smarty pants?? well, i have that taken care of, see next to my keyboard is my Wells Fargo checkbook.. and inside of that the hidden combination of letter sequences is written out. So... good luck robber b*tches! I'm all covered yo!

0110011001110101 (881374) writes "A jury ordered Internet phone provider Vonage Holdings Corp. to pay $58 million for infringing on three patents owned by Verizon Communications Inc. Thursday.

The eight-member federal jury also said Vonage must pay a 5.5 percent royalty rate on Vonage sales going forward.

After a day of deliberations, jurors concluded that Vonage infringed on two patents covering technology to connect Internet calls to the traditional phone system and for features such as call-waiting and voice-mail. The jury said Vonage also infringed on a third patent involving wireless Internet phone calls."
