NASA's Basement Nuclear Reactor

Abuzar Re:Cool idea, but never happen... (368 comments)

Oh, that's interesting. What exactly did you buy? How much did it cost? I'd love to learn more details. Maybe I can do the same on my roof.
I went to Canadian Tire this month, but with the products that I saw, it didn't look to be an enticing deal in terms of the energy produced for the cost of the products, so I'd be interested to see how you've managed to work it out.

Why Nobody Wants You On OKCupid

Abuzar Something's wrong cuz OkCupid works for me! (473 comments)

Uh, what do you mean no one's interested on OkCupid? It's the one site where I do get connected. The other sites don't work, but I meet a decent amount of people on okcupid. Just sayin' !

On the other hand, everytime I post on slashdot, my posts get marked down as bad karma. People here seem to have a hate on for exploring diverse ideas. I never get ANY love from slashdot geeks and they're soooooooo rude, insensitive and inconsiderate.
That's why I'm mostly on okcupid these days. I get to meet all these nice smart and sensitive people, like the girl who's into Cognitive Neuroscience I met last month, another one who's a hairstylist 6 months ago, and one who's going to college also 6 months ago, and the one-time hookup deal with another person two weeks ago, and now we're developing a friendship, etc.

On slashdot, I just come here for the news (mostly interested in Quantum Mechancis), and then I just bolt. Something about too much Machismo, it's just not sexy.
Well, this is all the time I'm willing to spend on slashdot. I'm going to go check my okcupid account.

800Mbps Wireless Network Made With LED Light Bulbs

Abuzar 800 Mbps? Is that it? (175 comments)

Really? It takes 'scientists' to make LED transceivers + routers these days? and it's news that it goes all the way up to ... less than a gigabit?
With today's technology, they should be able to tease out a cost-effective consumer grade LiFi router that runs no less than 10Gbps.

FF is falling behind and has to rip off other projects pushing the innovative edge. CometBird works faster, and already has a better UI.

Using LED Ceiling Lights For Digital Communication

Abuzar But... I'm already doing this! (143 comments)

WTF?! Can they really patent this? I mean, I'm using LEDs mounted high up on walls to transfer data... does that mean I'm violating a patent? I got the idea out of a forrest mims booklet!

Defeating Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle

That interpretation is too fine-grained. You're splitting hairs.

No, I'm not looking for an academic discussion. Am just posting my pov.
And I like using colorful language, and assfucking is colorful language.
Assfucking is also fun. Well, I like.

Publishing Company Puts Warning Label on Constitution

Abuzar Hell, yeah (676 comments)

And I'll tell you another book that needs to have a warning, it's the Bible.
They should make it 18+ only and with lots of warning ahead of time, would save plenty of dollars on psychotherapy.

Micro-Black Holes Make Poor Planet Killers

Abuzar Re:As if! (314 comments)

Heh, asshole moderators... can't tell the difference between a difference of opinion and trolling. With such intellectually challenged homo sapiens in existence, I shudder to think what frame of mind those who work at the LHC... no, let's not go there. Some things just shouldn't be imagined. Suffice it to say that if major disaster does strike humanity, it shan't be such a great loss.

Micro-Black Holes Make Poor Planet Killers

Abuzar As if! (314 comments)

Sure, everyone's a physics expert even when dealing with completely unknown phenomena and experiments conducted for the first time in human history.

Of course they're saying there is no cause for concern, it's their job that's on the line. Risks to humanity, the planet etc. be damned, we want our LHC!

Garlic Farmer Wards Off High-Speed Internet

Abuzar Good for him !! (475 comments)

People on here are ranting against this guy as if he's stupid or something.

Fact is that most of everyone including myself on slashcrap don't know dick about how these new technologies really affect our health. Sure, they can throw out fancy words and drum up arguments, but it's all sophistry. Just non-sense.

Time and again it's been shown that many big brains and experts overlooked serious ramifications of technology just because of their over-bloated egos, sense of superiority, and a few $$.

As far as I'm concerned, fiber may be a little expensive, but it does the job (and probably better!). So fuck the microwave and go with fiber.

Russia's New Official Holiday — Programmer's Day

Abuzar What we DESERVE!! (306 comments)

Do programmers deserve their own holiday ahead of other professions?

Of we deserve our own holiday!
Not only that, but the world should kiss our hairy asses and call it ice cream! And we deserve better pay,
like 7 figures for entry level, and sex, lot's of it. Free escorts for every nerd!
Mandatory that every girl and boy by the time they reach 18 must have sex with a nerd. Otherwise, no driver's license,
no voting privilege, and sit at the back of the bus!

The Case For Mandatory Touch-Typing In High School

Abuzar Ewwww.... you fuckin' dictator! (705 comments)

People who have a tendency to make up rules for other people just because it suits themselves should be killed.
It will help speed along evolution a lot faster.

I tried learning to touch type several times, but it just didn't work for me. Not everything works for everyone, and making something mandatory just because you think it increases efficiency is rather draconian. Math, certainly. Science... eeeeeeeeeeeh, alright. But touch typing? Seriously, go find another hobby other than making up rules.

Years later I started learning to play an electronic keyboard, and that combined with me typing at a computer started to hurt my wrists and fingers. So I did a little online research and switched to a Dvorak keyboard. Within a week the pain disappeared. I was able to play my music keyboard and type on my computer keyboard without a problem.
What's more?
I learnt to touch type! But without trying to learn it. It just came naturally with a Dvorak keyboard!
So why not make it mandatory to have a Dvorak keyboard available to all students?

When you start making up rules that affect large social systems, it is imperative that they actually reflect the needs and wants of that social system. It should always be a prime concern to alienate the least amount of people, if any at all.

California Student Arrested For Console Hacking

Abuzar Re:Give me a break (1016 comments)

If you are going to write a summary, write it non-biased. I really don't care what you find distrubing. If the guy gets 10 years, that is certainly excessive. But he wasn't doing this for himself, he was selling it to others for a profit. He should know better. And try to be a little honest. If you really believe that this would be used for anything other than piracy for the vast majority of cases, you have been drinking the Slashdot kool-aid too long.

Uh, the summary says he was doing it for profit. I don't know how much more clear he could have been. Maybe you should've bothered to read the summary?

There's no reason to assume it was done for piracy. Time and again we're seeing people wanting to use their gadgets without pathetic restrictions. Look at the whole online music trading conflict. On the one hand file traders are called pirates and thieves who are stealing from artists and they are relentlessly pursued by the music industry mafia. On the other hand, the music industry is cashing in on profits big time and itself is stealing from artists. This is a power struggle.

It's true he is probably biased and so am I, but then again so are you. In addition, your IQ seems to be kind of low.
