Snowden NSA Claims Partially Confirmed, Says Rep. Jerrold Nadler

AlgUSF Re:Who needs conspiracy theorists? (337 comments)

So much for "Hope and Change". I was looking forward to the end of the Patriot Act, and the closing of Guantanamo Bay.

I say this as the United States Government is staging "advisors", on the border between Syria and Jordan. I guess our Government didn't learn much from Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Remember, the enemy of our enemy isn't necessarily our "friend".

How To Add 5.5 Petabytes and Get Banned From Costco

AlgUSF Re:Skip the blogspam (273 comments)

I like how they link to the article about how they build up their pods. Really cool info for the novice storage builder trying to put something similar together for their small enterprise. Enough information to get you going, enough redacted so that you actually have to DIY.

How To Add 5.5 Petabytes and Get Banned From Costco

AlgUSF Re:What a bunch of douche bags (273 comments)

Honestly, I wouldn't think twice about doing the same thing. They are purchasing the drives, not stealing them. For "some reason" costco is buying them in lots where they can distribute them at that price. I guess they were just leveraging Costco and Best Buy's buying power to keep their business afloat.

Professor Resigns From Stanford To Launch Online Education Project

AlgUSF Re:This is a big deal (162 comments)

I attended the first six weeks, I feel horrible that I didn't finish. But life gets in the way; wife, kids, house, work. I am glad I earned a high quality education while I was young and had nothing better to do.

Science Fair Entry Shuts Down Airport Terminal

AlgUSF Re:In this post-9/11 world, we can't be too carefu (380 comments)

Palin sucks. Obama sucks. Bush sucks. McCain (while honorable in his military service) currently sucks. Boehner sucks. Reid sucks. We are in a country of >300M people and these are the best we can come up with.

Rights, who needs them. Now bend over while we inspect you for a rectum bomb. Warrant? We're the government we don't need no stinking warrant.

Women Arrested For Refusing TSA Search of Children

AlgUSF Re:Don't Fly (1017 comments)

Not my problem. I married an American woman. I love the United States and prefer to travel domestic and to Canada.

Women Arrested For Refusing TSA Search of Children

AlgUSF Don't Fly (1017 comments)

I personally don't fly unless my employer forces me to. My 2 year old daughter will certainly not fly since the porno scanners have been installed. She has flown twice before the porno scanners were installed. My family has chosen to drive to our destinations the last couple of years. The TSA is a joke. Right after 9-11 when President Bush announced the TSA and Patriot Act, I knew we were in for a knee jerk reaction which won't solve anything. President Obama is just accelerating the stupidity.

Experimental "Smart Town" To Be Built In Japan

AlgUSF Re:Deja Vu all over again (91 comments)

You are talking about the EPCOT where nobody owns real property, and the corporation owns everything. You come home and there are new appliances there, because the corporation thinks you are ready for them. Where all of the residents work for the corporation in exchange for living in this Experimental Community. Yeah, sounds right where this country is headed... The wrong way.

US Congress Tries To Cut Body Scanner Funding

AlgUSF Re:Excellent (241 comments)

Hopefully this is the beginning of the end of our knee-jerk reaction to 9/11. The enemy is winning when our government spends trillions to treat every American like they are criminals. They spend thousands of dollars and a dozen lives, and we spend trillions and tens of thousands of lives. I just don't think "we" are winning.

Don't even get me started about the trillions it cost to get one guy sitting on the floor watching TV with the protection of our "ally" Pakistan. Get nukes, now you are our ally.

National Security Jobs To Rival Silicon Valley Over the Next 10 Years?

AlgUSF Re:Unlikely to offer any longterm employment growt (136 comments)

Absolutely; we are spending until our credit card with China and other developing nations is maxed out. I was hoping that Mr. Obama would fix the mess that Mr. Bush got us into; guess I was wrong. Mr. Obama, where are the taxes on the rich you promised? What ever happened to "too big to fail is too big to exist"? Our government likes to add the prefix "Cyber" to anything that has to do with technology. Maybe I should just hang out drinking my Cyber-coffee using my Cyber-macbook, and finish doing my Cyber-tax return.

Glen Beck Warns Viewers Not To Use Google

AlgUSF Privacy is a illusion (1276 comments)

I don't google/bing/yahoo anything I would not want printed on the front page of the New York Times.... I think Glenn Beck is a nut, like the Y2Kers. I also don't think a multi-billion dollar company who's business is storing data; is on my side either!

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Brings Boston to a Halt

AlgUSF Re:Stupid Government (804 comments)

Massachusetts or Texas. If you overreact to a innocent stunt/prank, you are a hero because you are doing it in the name of Homeland Security. They are talking about having Turner broadcasting reimburse the city for millions, because the city didn't just take a look at it. Maybe have a subject matter expert determine that the damn thing was a light brite. I think the stunt was juvenile, but hilarious. It also showed how the terrorists won, because we detonate anything out of the ordinary these days.

If the Boston govt. was honest and actually had some intelligent people working there; they would say "It was a juvenile prank, however we are sorry we overreacted and locked the city down over light brites"......
