What happens if the test is about the Mesozoic? No mention of life form in that case? Let's pretend all there was was insects and fish?

Pay the TSA $100 and Bypass Airport Security

AmigaMMC Re:All I can say is (527 comments)

TSA employees are not allowed inside airplanes without the consent of the crew, airline employees don't need that authorization. Also, if you read the article it says these people must be invited by the airline. You know what that means? It means that if you're not at least Gold Status (50,000 paid miles flown in a year) or more likely Platinum (75,000 or 100,000 miles) chances are you will not be invited. These are our best clients, why not trust them a little more?

Pay the TSA $100 and Bypass Airport Security

AmigaMMC Re:All I can say is (527 comments)

It's not exactly like that, and it's not exactly new. First you have to pass a rigorous background check, the same one I passed to work for an airline.

AT&T On Data Throttling: Blame Yourselves

AmigaMMC Re:It's all the customers' fault... (406 comments)

Data throttling is happening after 1.5GB to people on an unlimited plan whereas it doesn't happen to people who have 2GB or 3GB plans. That tells me that AT&T is coercing customers with an unlimited plan to drop it and go with a limited plan. It would be just fair for Data Throttling not to occur before 2 or 3GB of usage, to be in par with the other consumers. I think the FCC should step in and stop this abuse of consumer rights.

Jailbreak For A5 iOS Devices Released

AmigaMMC Re:Not being a troll, Serious question. (169 comments)

You do own the phone. You're free to do whatever you want with it if you can figure it out. Oh, you mean you want Apple to do all the work for you, release all the documentation and provide you with the tools you need? Sorry, but they have no obligation to do that. You're still free to do it on your own, but then don't come crying for Apple to replace it for free when you void the warranty trying to hack/mod your hardware. You are free in every way to use the hardware as you wish, what you are really angry at is that Apple makes no attempts to help you in that endeavor.

Really? So why did Apple feel the need to file a patent under which they can kill an iphone by distance when they find out it's jailbroken?

Who know if they'll use it or not, but that's not the point, they have a patent for it.

Apple is becoming an evil empire!

That's why I'm so pissed at Apple. 10-15 years ago they would not stop criticizing Microsoft for being the Evil Empire (tm) but they have become worse than Microsoft with all their stupid restrictions and obsessive controlling behavior.

Ellen Degeneres iPologizes 2 Apple for funny video

AmigaMMC AmigaMMC writes  |  more than 4 years ago

AmigaMMC (1103025) writes "Two days ago Ellen Degeneres in her show made a spoof of an iPhone commercial in which she had a hard time using it. The video was not just innocent but very funny. Apple didn't take that well and demanded for an apology, which she gave. The video was also available on but has since been removed. Ellen's video is still on her website, as of now, but the URL was not readily reachable, fortunately I had it cached."

Google behavioral ads scare US lawmakers

AmigaMMC AmigaMMC writes  |  more than 5 years ago

AmigaMMC writes "Google's new plan introduced Wednesday to track individual users' browser history to target ads was just the ticket for Democrat Rep. Rich Boucher, the newly-minted chairman of the House subcommittee on communications and the internet.

The Virginia congressman said yesterday he's working on a bill that will put restrictions on how internet companies can collect, save, store, and share user information.

Thus far, online ad firms have enjoyed a Bush administration policy of voluntary, self-regulation for protecting user privacy and disclosing what they do with personal data. But with a new boss in the White House, the FCC recently has taken a firmer stance on its "guidance" for the industry and last month warned online firms it's their "last clear chance" to show self-regulation is effective in policing data-collection policies."

Bionic eye gives blind man sight

AmigaMMC AmigaMMC writes  |  more than 5 years ago

AmigaMMC writes "A man who lost his sight 30 years ago says he can now see flashes of light after being fitted with a bionic eye.

Ron, 73, had the experimental surgery seven months ago at London's Moorfield's eye hospital.

He says he can now follow white lines on the road, and even sort socks, using the bionic eye, known as Argus II

I wouldn't go as far as claiming he regained his sight, but this certainly is a biotechnological breakthrough."

Canon announces new 21.1 and 10.1 Megapixel SLR 's

AmigaMMC AmigaMMC writes  |  about 7 years ago

AmigaMMC writes "Yesterday Canon took the veil off its two new Digital SLR cameras. The EOS 10.1 MP 40D and the 21.1 MP EOS D1s Mark III.

— The new 21.1-megapixel, full-frame Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III Digital SLR camera brings the power of Canon U.S.A., Inc.'s professional imaging excellence and innovation into sharper focus than ever before. While Canon's EOS-1D series has dominated the 35mm-based professional Digital SLR market for the past six years, the new EOS-1Ds Mark III Digital SLR takes Canon's pro-digital prowess into and the realm of high-fashion and commercial photo studios where bulkier, medium-format cameras previously reigned. http://www.usa.canon.com/html/templatedata/pressre lease/20070820_1dsmk3.html

— The EOS 40D advances the state-of-the-art for mid-range Digital SLR cameras, making it a natural first choice for advanced amateur photographers and entry-level professionals, and an ideal second body for more established photo pros. http://www.usa.canon.com/html/templatedata/pressre lease/20070820_40d.html"
