Eizo Debuts Monitor With 1:1 Aspect Ratio

ArchieBunker Re:16:9 (329 comments)

Put the same diagonal size 16:9 and 16:10 monitors side by side and the 16:9 is a few inches shorter. That is a ton of screen real estate.

ArchieBunker Re:Go back in time 5 years (575 comments)

Give it a try. FreeBSD runs Linux binaries just fine. You'll be amazed at how clean and orderly everything is compared to your average Linux Distro. Plus the documentation is top notch.

The Downside to Low Gas Prices

ArchieBunker USPS (554 comments)

Everyone blames republicans for killing the USPS but nobody can explain how it happened with a democratic majority in congress at the time. Who is behind this and what is the outcome supposed to be? Personally I don't care if the USPS goes under. My service from them is so awful.

ArchieBunker Make DST standard (613 comments)

Make it DST year round. Daylight in the evening is much better than the mornings. You're going to work in the morning anyhow, who cares how light it is? You get out of work and still have daylight left, awesome.

Debian Switching Back To GNOME As the Default Desktop

ArchieBunker Binary logs (403 comments)

No logging from systemd is now in binary form and needs special viewers and processing tools. So all the classic text programs like tail or grep or awk can no longer be used. This is a solution in search of a problem.

Richard Stallman happy that Steve Jobs is gone

ArchieBunker ArchieBunker writes  |  more than 3 years ago

ArchieBunker (132337) writes "Richard Stallman is an eccentric, odd person who just went sour. In one fell, misguided swoop, he has compared the late Steve Jobs—an admittedly imperfect man, like us all—to corrupt mayors and other "evils" visited upon society:"
