Bletchley Park's Bitter Dispute Over Its Future
Hopefully the CEO will be called back for being a coward and also get fired. His credentials may look impressive, but his manners belong in the brig. I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Iain Standen's attitude gets him heaved like a bloody anchor off the ship. Stuff like this makes the governing board look like they should be getting a few tastes of the proverbial cat o' nine tails.
Frankly from what I had seen, he seems to be more of the kind for getting the gibbet. Antique method of killing that happened to pre-date the guillotine by a few hundred years.
Another 100 Gigabit DDoS Attack Strikes — This Time Unreflected
I have a feeling we will hit the 2-3 terabit range in about 6-12 months.
DARPA Launches Military Spaceplane Project
Think we could see the start of a U.N. Spacy? Or will we be seeing the possible start of the United Federation of Planets?
If the former, all we need is to see a few functional Valkyrie aircraft. On the other hand, the latter could mean we wind up with something similar to the Enterprise.
Reject DRM and You Risk Walling Off Parts of the Web, Says W3C Chief
I would say it would be possible to call it Jaffe's gaffe of stupidity.
Ancient Roman Concrete Is About To Revolutionize Modern Architecture
True enough. Sure it is prior art, if one gives a few millennia to think about it. In this case, the old method is superior to the new.
Canadian Cellphone Users May Get Justice Over Phantom Charges
Actually I know of that first hand from having lived in the NWT as a kid. One of the emergency numbers I could remember that was almost universal to the territories would have been xxx-2222 for the fire department. Though I do recall having also dispatched fire calls from the hotel that I had worked at, where I could have ignored the front desk if there was a fire call coming in. Also had false alarms and prank calls, though those would just be written down on the little clipboard beside the desk in the rear office as well.
I haven't looked at a NorthwesTel phone book in a while, so I would assume the numbers are still the same for the NWT & Nunavut.
Oculus Rift Guillotine Simulation
Just need a version for the gibbet, the block and the sword.
A Mask That Can Give You Superhuman Abilities
Illusion is the ultimate weapon.
Who said we had to limit things to comics with the masquerade? A few movies and books also contained masks that were about as potent as any gun. Probably add a few cartoons as well.
Florida Teen Expelled and Arrested For Science Experiment
Seen the pig's bio. Feral Bastards and Idiots trained monkey. Methinks he needs a few lessons in humility from 4chan or nature. I can only hope the next hurricane does to him, what he did to the lass.
Robot Snake Could Aid Search and Rescue Operations
I'm going to assume someone builds a replica of Snake Man from Megaman/Rockman 3 that fires actual Search Snakes.
No Porn From Public WiFi Hotspots In the UK Proposed
Better to be a smart socialist libertarian, than a whiny tory maggot that wanks off to the biggest overpaid bankster.
Would this mean high finance porn (i.e. CEOs that happen to be celebrated for being overpaid and underperforming) could be put under the scope as well? I might say so, just to bring in some equality to the world.
Canada Launches ACTA Bill
True enough, Tricky Vic has words in the Hansard that can be used to take him out. Hell; PM's bum buddy Rob Anders called Nelson Mandela a terrorist for crying out loud. I'll pay my respects to Mr. Mandela; and I would love to see how many candidates are willing to hold the feet of the Conservative Party to the flames.
The Dishonourable Prime Minister was found in contempt, unfortunately the little "Twit from Toronto" went and called the election to stay in power. If I'm not mistaken, we've still yet to hear about the Elections Canada fiasco with misdirecting voters via the use of "Robo-calls". Frankly most of the judiciary are scared to throw the book at the Cornwall Alliance allied Conservative Party.
I'll be honest, you would find me picking the mind of Elijah Harper before I sit down with "Thievin' Stephen".
RIAA: Google Failing To Demote Pirate Websites
The MAFIAA strikes again. Think they will learn to do the right thing and fall on their collective swords?
US CEO Says French Workers Have Three-Hour Work Day
I'd welcome an era where the CEO goes the way of the dinosaurs.
If they want feudalism; then we shall give it to them in a style similar to past eras in history. I would love to see how a few CEOs deal with rebellions and suddenly having their million plus (insert currency that isn't the yen) salaries go down the shitter due to being worthless.
White House Petition To Make Cell Phone Unlocking Legal Needs 11,000 Signatures
5412 at the moment. DRM schemes must remain dead.
The IIPA Copyright Demands For Canada and Spain
It is possible to consider the IIPA as so far behind the times, that they are still using dial up for internet connections. Their business models have been out of date for so long; they make the old 8-tracks look like new tech.
I think I have seen their kind having a closer relationship with the batch of idiots known as Conservative MPs, than the same MPs have with their own constituents.
Monsanto Takes Home $23m From Small Farmers According To Report
Think it might be time to drop Monsanto's bottom line to start showing red? I think some of the farmers might be better off trying to run with edible weeds for feeding both family & livestock. I'd try either crabgrass as a possible starting ground, and have it running for bit as both grain and greens.
Real-Time Fact Checking With "Truth Teller"
On the other hand, when can we start sending the neoliberal conservatives to the insane asylum? I know a few members of the CPC that would easily qualify.
GameSpy's New Owners Begin Disabling Multiplayer Without Warning
To think the same thing had happened back when Gamespy had bought out the Mplayer service.
The Mplayer client was functional for the era it was in. At the time my connection was rather crappy with dial up having to be the only way at the time and this was having large files be a pain do download with the speeds that were available in that part of town. Needless to say for some files, you could have made a large breakfast with all the fixings and eaten it before the file was done.
Ad Blocking – a Coming Legal Battleground?
Most of the time I usually run either Opera and toss the domain of the offending advertisers and refresh. If I get something bugging me when I have Firefox up and running, I do the same thing with the bloody hosts file and redirect the bugger home.
