Nasdaq launches regulation-free stock exchange

BalanceOfJudgement BalanceOfJudgement writes  |  more than 6 years ago

BalanceOfJudgement (962905) writes "In a move that defies all logic, Nasdaq is set to launch a new stock exchange exclusively for wealthy investors with more than $100 million in assets. In the Portal Market, companies remain private and are not required to release financial statements or submit to federal regulation. What happened to the idea that regulation was designed explicitly to prevent too much economic power from being placed in the hands of small groups?"
