Judge Rules Defense Can Use Trayvon Martin Tweets

Bob Cat - NYMPHS Re:Blame the victim much (848 comments)

Search his home? For WHAT?

The shooting happened OUTSIDE, there is nothing INSIDE that would help determine what happened.

A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that tech news used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those geeknerds dance
And, maybe, theyâ(TM)d be happy for a while.

Kinda different if someone was calling for Romney et al to 'take Obama out', too. Well worth a visit from the feds, IMHO.

US Has Secret Tools To Force Internet On Dictatorships

Bob Cat - NYMPHS Re:ah, the joys of false equivalency (282 comments)

>is it your position that people travelling internationally should have no protection from unwarranted months-long seizure of anything they're carrying?

It's not MY position, it's the reality of thousands of years of law.

You actually think you can cross an international border and not get searched, or have anything at all seized? What planet do you live on?

Again, it is a LIE that anything was seized illegally. A LIE.

US Has Secret Tools To Force Internet On Dictatorships

Bob Cat - NYMPHS Re:ah, the joys of false equivalency (282 comments)

Hey, AC, you mean THIS?

>On November 3, 2010, Department of Homeland Security agents at O'Hare International Airport detained for questioning Mr. David House, a computer programmer and U.S. citizen who lives in Cambridge, Mass., upon his return from a trip to Mexico.

He was NOT visiting Bradley Manning in prison, he was crossing an international border, and there are NO 4th Amendment protections there.

You need to read your own links so you don't get called out on your errors. Oh right, you're an AC, no one can pin this on you.

You made this up, dude. But spies need liars to support them, I guess.

555 Timer Circuit Design Contest

Bob Cat - NYMPHS Bob Cat - NYMPHS writes  |  more than 3 years ago

Bob Cat - NYMPHS (313647) writes "Jeri Ellsworth designer of the C64DTV, maker of DIY NMOS transistors, and all-around uber-geek, decided to have a contest to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 555 timer IC. Of course, Google, Digi-Key and many other keepers of the geek flame jumped at the chance to offer thousands of dollars in prizes, and Forrest Mims III is judging, along with Hans Camenzind, the inventor of the 555. Warm up your soldering irons!"

Bob Cat - NYMPHS (313647) writes "Love 60's music? You can listen to streamed concerts at Wolfgang's Vault — at least until the courts shut it down. Concert promoter Bill Graham recorded the Doors, the Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, CSN, &c, and stored it all away along with posters, shirts, tickets, handbills. The current owner of the trove is selling it off — how about buying an original unused ticket to Woodstock for your mom? A t-shirt from Woz's US Festival for yourself? You might think some of those bands would want to be paid for the streamed music, but no, they want a cut of the memorabilia sales. "Said Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek to The Times: "If people are buying something because it says the Doors on it then, you know, you should give the Doors some of the money. Look, I need to pay my electric bill. I play an electric keyboard.""
