Duke: No Mercy For CS 201 Cheaters Who Don't Turn Selves In By Wednesday

BradMajors Re:yea no - happened in Middle School (319 comments)

It is best that this rule is taught as early as possible, because that is how the real world works.

I was taught this rule in the 8th grade. The teacher left the classroom and when he returned he asked who was talking while he was out of the room. Me and two others raised our hands. You gave the three of us detentions.

Duke: No Mercy For CS 201 Cheaters Who Don't Turn Selves In By Wednesday

BradMajors Re:Or just practicing for an actual job (319 comments)

Yes. Companies I have worked for have prohibited that practice. At some companies you would fired for doing that.

You are incorporating copyright material into your company's products which can result in legal liability for them. Available on the internet does not make it free.

How Alibaba Turned November 11 Into the World's Biggest Online Shopping Day

BradMajors Re:Am I the only one (115 comments)

People buy on Alibaba in order to resell on ebay.

The advantage of buying on Alibaba is that you are buying directly from the Chinese supplier. The disadvantage is that the sellers on Alibaba are not as retail consumer orientated as ebay.

Codecademy's ReSkillUSA: Gestation Period For New Developers Is 3 Months

BradMajors tool (173 comments)

Programming is a tool used to perform work. Learning how to use a tool does not make you qualified to do anything. The analogy being teaching somehow to write does not mean that person can now go and become a best selling author.

"The SEC hasn't used false certification against executives from any of the major banks suspected of misleading the public about their finances during the crisis."

Apparently the law was intended to be used against fishermen and not CEOs of banks.

In this year's US mid-term elections ...

BradMajors Re:California Top-Two Primary (551 comments)

You forget to mention they also made it more difficult for 3rd party candidates to appear on the primary ballot. Many fewer Libertarian candidates in the primary this election even though Libertarians have been the leading 3rd party in past elections.

3rd parties do not like this change.
