For Some Would-Be Google Glass Buyers and Devs, Delays May Mean Giving Up

C0R1D4N Re: Early adopters (154 comments)

I have a gear one, I have to charge it only every other night. My only real beef with it is inability to really respond to skype messages/google voice without pulling my phone out.

The Downside to Low Gas Prices

C0R1D4N Re:Stupid, trucks cause the problem (554 comments)

It could also encourage us to reinvest a bit more in our freight rail system. It's stupid to send two hundred trucks of stuff from coast to coast when one train can carry an equal amount.

The Students Who Feel They Have the Right To Cheat

That's the fault of the site I copy/pasted from (and probably the fact that I'm too young even for Bye Bye Birdie)

How To End Online Harassment

C0R1D4N Re: here we go (827 comments)

As a male try getting a job as a receptionist or bank teller. It's nearly impossible. These may not be the best jobs in the world but when you are trying to push yourself up out of minimum wage retail and hold a BA or Associates degree having a penis is strikes 1 2 and 3 against you.

I am not a straight white male (only two of the three).

The Students Who Feel They Have the Right To Cheat

Kids!
I don't know what's wrong with these kids today!
Kids!
Who can understand anything they say?
Kids!
They a disobedient, disrespectful oafs!
Noisy, crazy, dirty, lazy, loafers!
While we're on the subject:
Kids!
You can talk and talk till your face is blue!
Kids!
But they still just do what they want to do!
Why can't they be like we were,
Perfect in every way?
What's the matter with kids today?
Kids!
I've tried to raise him the best I could
Kids! Kids!
Laughing, singing, dancing, grinning, morons!
And while we're on the subject!
Kids! They are just impossible to control!
Kids! With their awful clothes and their rock an' roll!
Why can't they dance like we did
What's wrong with Sammy Caine?
What's the matter with kids today!

Marijuana Legalized In Oregon, Alaska, and Washington DC

C0R1D4N Re: Wonderful (588 comments)

It means it is no longer a violation of state law, only federal. The federal government can still enforce the laws without using local resources but they don't really want to spark a fight between state governments and the federal.

New Crash Test Dummies Reflect Rising American Bodyweight

C0R1D4N Re:What did you expect.. (144 comments)

It's because low paying jobs are very sedentary and people working two or three of them don't have the time to hit the gym or go out jogging like all those upper middle class moms with their land rovers.

Study: New Jersey e-Vote Experiment After Sandy a Disaster

C0R1D4N Re: Sandy was not a superstorm (77 comments)

Beat? Maybe not, but a libertarian/right leaning Democrat could have certainly put up a strong challenge. I worked on one's primary campaign (Carl Bergmanson) but the Democratic party cockblocked us at every turn. Refused to allow us to speak at county party meetings, fought (and won) to knock us off the ballot, they were determined to put Buono up for slaughter.

Study: New Jersey e-Vote Experiment After Sandy a Disaster

C0R1D4N Re: Sandy was not a superstorm (77 comments)

No he got reelected because the Democrats weren't interested in trying to oust him. The candidate they put up was a crony who demanded her turn at higher office and this was the only chance she would ever be allowed to run.

In UK, Internet Trolls Could Face Two Years In Jail

C0R1D4N Re: F the UK (489 comments)

The same could be said of the US and Russia not going against Hitler early. It can also be said that because the US didn't join the League of Nations it lacked the teeth to do anything against him. Seems silly to blame the UK and France alone.

US Navy Develops Robot Boat Swarm To Overwhelm Enemies

C0R1D4N Re:Or... Check this radical idea... (142 comments)

They want to stop another USS Cole incident, how about this radical idea. Put some frikkin armor on the ships. We went from 12in armor around the entire ship to 2.5in armor around vital spaces only. It's absurd. Our entire Navy is just one big expensive glass cannon (except without the cannon part, we got rid of those too).

The Era of Saturday Morning Cartoons Is Dead

C0R1D4N Re:Looney Tunes (320 comments)

First off, Speedy Gonzalez is LOVED in Mexico, he's a cultural icon there, not a stereotype (his slower cousin maybe not as well received). Also there was a recent show that featured all the characters and definitely as enjoyable or more enjoyable for adults.

The Era of Saturday Morning Cartoons Is Dead

C0R1D4N Re:Cable channels killed it and the OTA stations (320 comments)

It's so hard to believe they can make more off of infomercials. Cartoons had to have ten times their ratings easily. Even with parents usually just throwing ToonDisney/Nicktoons on and leaving it on all day nowadays.
