'Accidental' Siberian Mummies Part of Mysterious Ancient Arctic Civilization

C0R1D4N Re:Ancient? (33 comments)

I see they are truky 800 years old, so ancient is a pretty dumb term to use. Ancient is generally reserved for BCE.

'Accidental' Siberian Mummies Part of Mysterious Ancient Arctic Civilization

C0R1D4N Ancient? (33 comments)

800 years is not ancient. It is medieval. If they meant to say 8000 thats really damn impressive they kniw about the religious beliefs about spells emanating from skulls.

Sony is taking a crack at the Minecraft market with Everquest Landmark as well. None of those games really appeal to me, but compared to Minecraft Landmark is certainly prettier.

UN Report Reveals Odds of Being Murdered Country By Country

C0R1D4N Re:shenanigans (386 comments)

The biggest problem is integration. Where minorities are integrated with the white population (East Asians, Arabs and Indians for example) their children thrive just as well as white children. When the population is split off into its own communities (Blacks, Hispanics, orthodox religious) not so much. When I visited London last year with my (gay) husband I never once feared for my safety near a minority. If I did the same in NYC, even parts of Manhattan, there would be at least a little unease.

It was easier in England for them to integrate their minorities (having fewer of them) but it really is the key to success.

There's basically two choices, give them a state to call their own and let their culture persist there, or fully integrate them by spreading out the mix.

FWD.us Wants More H-1B Visas, But 50% Go To Offshore Firms

C0R1D4N Re:If you're going to screw... (325 comments)

People who hire illegal immigrants don't want immigration reform. If the illegals all of a sudden had a legal status and had to pay income taxes and be on the grid, etc they would not be able to work so cheaply.

That is how it gets by something like Heisenberg though, by basically vacuuming up the matter and turning it into energy rather than the cut/paste method of file transfer today that just scans/copies.

Deep Space 9, Falling Skies, The 4400, Kyle XY, Doctor Who relaunch, Firefly, SG1, Battlestar Galactica, X-Files, Mutant X, The 100, Star Wars The Clone Wars, these are all at least as good as TNG. Some much better.

Daylight Saving Time ...

Clearly the problem is this whole solstice thing. We just need to adjust our axis so that every day is the equinox in both North and South hemispheres.

Active helipad means "concrete slab where we can land a heli for a medivac". It wasn't the penn station of helicopters.

Yes, it is possible to set it up so it explodes like a grenade if it is tampered with too, that is not what it is being advertised. The feature is that unscrewing it will make it erase the data.
