Pirates already have an entitlement complex. Why would they want to do stuff for the sites they are using?

Disney Close To Unveiling New "DVD Killer"

Cheapy Re:Disney sells product that solves Disney's probl (498 comments)

Unfortunately...that's not quite true. Steam, and especially Valve's games, have done quite well, despite the customer not owning the game.

Microsoft Research Shows Off Multi-Touch Mouse Prototypes

Cheapy Re:Open source game? (137 comments)

..they could do the same thing with Halo for PC. I don't think that's necessarily the reason.

BioShock 2 Multiplayer Details Revealed

Cheapy Re:No Thank You (19 comments)

No no no, you got it wrong. It'd be "xXxSEPIROTH666xXx".

But seriously, I was under the impression that the multiplayer "story" was going to be unlocked as you gained levels, somehow. I don't think it'd be like WoW, where everyone is in the same map.

Except when it's something you agree with, and in that case ballot stuffing is great! Or so I'm told whenever I bring up ballot stuffing.

Microsoft Begs Win 7 Testers To Clean Install

Cheapy Re:It's Good Advice for Any OS Install (420 comments)

That brings back bad memories. Had to reinstall Kubuntu because something got seriously messed up. I test out my backups. They restored just fine. I wipe the disk, and put Kubuntu back on. Try to restore the backups and....no luck.

Facebook Cuts Off Pirate Bay Links

Cheapy Re:What about Google? (137 comments)

"Why cant people see this? Its posted again and again, and the pro-piracy kids just don't want to hear it."

I think you answered your own question.

EA Won't Use DRM For The Sims 3

Cheapy Re:Woo! (128 comments)

I think it's partly because the target audience is probably not likely to pirate anyways. Perhaps because they don't want to piss off a large group of people with DRM? A much larger group than would normally care.

Who knows. Just a conspiracy theory.

Valve Claims New Steamworks Update "Makes DRM Obsolete"

Cheapy Re:More questions (731 comments)

I remember seeing that at one point, the Steam Terms of Service said that they were not required to unlock games. Unless the ToS have changed, that trumps whatever Newell says.

Is the offline play option default? Or do you have to change things to get it to work?

The Survival of Survival Horror

*cough* like Half-life *cough*

Really? I honestly don't recall ever having to preserve ammo in Half-Life. Maybe it's just been too long since I've played it but...

Review: Resident Evil 5

Cheapy Re:Reboot (121 comments)

I was playing the demo the other day. And it was almost all action. I haven't actually played much of the other REs (maybe 5 minutes of RE4...), but I was constantly waiting for less shooting, and more horror-survival stuff. It never really came :(

Rocket Hobbyists Prevail Over Feds In Court Case

Cheapy Re:second amendment rights (546 comments)

I assume it's because the NRA is taking care of the 2nd amendment. There're better things to focus on, if a huge organization is working hard already.

Emulation Explosion On the PS3 Via Linux

Cheapy Re:No (425 comments)

I don't know. When the company claims that a product is still for "early adapters" two years after it's release...that's almost flop-worthy.
