I didn't see them sleep together. I saw them kiss, twice. You inferred the rest.

Windows 7 "Not Much Faster" Than Vista

CrazyTalk Infinitely Faster (821 comments)

In my experience it is MUCH faster - since it is not crashing all the time, bugging you with security alerts etc - and actually lets you get your work done. CPU speed is almost irrelevant these days.

And oil! I'm not big on the butter, but something about that nice salty, oily taste you can only get in the movie theatres. It's that peanut oil that is bad for you - and tastes so good!

Where's Your Coding Happy Place?

CrazyTalk Re:I, too, have had productive flights (508 comments)

The best piece of code I ever wrote was on a cross country flight. It was an integral piece of the project I was working on, and in a span of about 2 hours I had greater productivity than in most of the rest of the year put together. Of course, that was a long time ago before coach seats got so small that sitting comfortably let alone working became out of the question.

Comic Sans, Font of Ill Will

CrazyTalk Re:Darn kids! (503 comments)

As a fellow old timer who typed quite a few .NOT. and .EQ. back in the day - I don't see what the big deal is either. If you don't like that font, use another one.

NASA In Colbert Conundrum Over Space Station

CrazyTalk Re:WWOOOSSSHHHH!!! KKRRCK-BOOOOMM!!!! (398 comments)

Are you forgetting the name of the first space shuttle? There was a write-in campaign for that one too. The winner? "Enterprise". At least NASA back then had the sense to name the test vehicle Enterprise, not the first one to actually fly in space.

Only a small fraction of the developers in the US understand English, let alone the world.

never mind the manufacturing capability to build those old Apollo rockets, which no longer exists - steel mills all gone, no forges that large anymore.

American Airlines To Offer Wi-Fi In Planes

CrazyTalk Re:Are you that addicted to the internet? (303 comments)

you can get food on airplanes? Even the peanuts have stopped. US Air (and others) sell "boxed lunches" but they only bring enough for the first 10 rows or so, after that you are out of luck.

American Airlines To Offer Wi-Fi In Planes

CrazyTalk laptops? on planes? (303 comments)

What the article fails to mention (or I'm assuming it fails to mention, since I didn't RTFA) is that coach seats are now so small, there are no room for your knees let alone working on a laptop. Flying is now pure hell for the husky gentlemen, unless I spring for the "Economy Plus" seats (when available) that have the legroom of the old normal coach.

What Has Fox Got Against Its Own Sci-Fi Shows?

CrazyTalk Re:Duh, they're CRAP... (753 comments)

Good one. I remember when TNG first came out - I thought it was complete crap, like a Star Trek version of Super Friends where all the characters had super powers (Deanna reading minds, Data super strength, Geordi super vision etc)

CrazyTalk CrazyTalk writes  |  more than 7 years ago

CrazyTalk (662055) writes "I have the misfortune (or fortune) of having a Dell laptop and Apple laptop as my two main machines. Both were subjected to the recent battery recall. My Dell replacment battery arrived promptly in spite of the "75 business days" expected timeframe, but runs hotter than ever. My Apple battery took longer to arrive, but seems to be a worthy replacment. Both vendors included return postage stickers to send my old battery back, but only Dell had the added touch of including an extra blank sticker to serve as tape to seal the box. What are the experiences of everyone else regarding the battery recall?"
