iOS 8 Review

DJCouchyCouch Re:Keyboard (216 comments)

That's right on the money. All that was stopping millions (and millions!) from going to Apple was a customizable keyboard. And Apple's lost them forever, because of the Android store lock-in.

But seriously, I'd say the keyboard providers will make more money on iOS now than on Android.

Samsung's Position On Tizen May Hurt Developer Recruitment

DJCouchyCouch Re:"too hard for developers" (sniff) (93 comments)

It's not the difficulty, it's the potential waste of effort for supporting one platform when Samsung up and decides to change to another. Why support a company you can't rely on being stable?

Ask Slashdot: eReader browser friendly websites?

DJCouchyCouch DJCouchyCouch writes  |  about 3 years ago

DJCouchyCouch (622482) writes "I have a Kobo Touch eReader that comes with a bare-bones web browser. Being E Ink based, the browsing experience is pretty poor due to the low refresh rate of the screen. Scrolling is twitchy and often laggy. Are there sites out there that can reformat a website to be more like book reading? Not asking for a perfect, tablet-like experience, just something better than what it does now. Thanks!"
