Best Way To Build A DIY UAV?

DJNephilim If I were to try this... (259 comments)

If I were to attempt this, I'd probably just get a regular RC aircraft to start with and then rig something like this into the airframe. I'm sure there are cheaper solutions, but it would probably be one of the easiest.

How Steam Revived a Dead Game

DJNephilim Re:XvT ported to Linux! (234 comments)

Oh, I would *so* be there.

It is my firm belief that they should re-release all the original X-Wing/TIE Fighter games with updated graphics, etc. I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

Google Releases Chrome 2.0 Pre-Beta

DJNephilim Re:Copy Firefox source code? (326 comments)

Ahh well, it was worth a shot. I've actually been moving slowly away from FF myself since 3 came out, but for different reasons. I didn't know they had changed the way the bar worked that much. . . bugger.

Out of curiosity, what browser do you currently use?

Google Releases Chrome 2.0 Pre-Beta

DJNephilim Re:Copy Firefox source code? (326 comments)

Hmm..that's strange, because that's they way I have mine set and it is behaving like a normal url bar with regular old autocomplete on. None of this awesomebar nonesense.

Aha...after some searching, found this:

First, go to your Firefox settings by putting "about:config" into the location bar. Click past the warning message, and scroll down to browser.urlbar.maxRichResults. This sets how many recommendations the Awesome Bar will display -- it's 12 by default, but you want to change it to 0.

Ah, then it was

accessibility.typeaheadfind.flashBar

Set that to zero.

Google Releases Chrome 2.0 Pre-Beta

DJNephilim Re:Copy Firefox source code? (326 comments)

Easy, in the URL bar, type in about:config and find this:

browser.urlbar.autoFill

Change it's value to false by double clicking on it. There, now your 'awesome bar' is a regular URL bar.

You're welcome.

I think you are referring to the Dash GPS. I haven't used one myself, but it at least looks interesting.

ITunes 8 a Real Killer App; Taking Down Vista

DJNephilim How strange (735 comments)

It feels so strange. I keep reading all of these "ZOMG teh crashes!!1one" horror stories about iTunes 8 and Vista, and yet I upgraded to 8 on Tuesday and have had not a single issue with it, my iPod, or my iPhone. AFAICT it even runs a little better than 7 did (granted, purely anecdotal...no testing done whatsoever).

Am I the aberration in this case, or are the vocal minority getting WAY out of hand again?

Hmmm....
