Fake Engine Noise Is the Auto Industry's Dirty Little Secret

Dishevel Welcome to the Government. (820 comments)

Eco engines and shit are the law. They have to do it.

The people want the sound. Ford follows the mandates and gives customers what they want.

Sounds like Ford is doing the best it can under the rules it is forced to follow.

If you like something less than he does you are a denier.

If you like it more than he does you are a nutter.

Linus is an ass. He never seemed racist or filled with hate for women.

Maybe you just spend too much time pulling statements out of your ass?

Google Researcher Publishes Unpatched Windows 8.1 Security Vulnerability

Dishevel Re:Poor choices to use proprietary cause this! (129 comments)

10,000 times more people are able to fix an issue in Linux than in Windows. So a single individual may be limited but the community is much stronger.

School Defied Google and US Government, Let Boys Program White House Xmas Trees

Dishevel Re: Considering how few boys graduate at ALL (355 comments)

This is not about truth. This is about people with no skills or abilities being able to feel good about themselves by "kind of" changing the meaning of words.

Sanitation Engineers, Assistant (TO) the Branch Manager :) and so on. One day truth will be important again, but that day is not now. Now is scoreless games where everyone is a winner.

US Internet Offers 10Gbps Fiber In Minneapolis

Dishevel Re:The wireless router is the bottleneck. (110 comments)

Give me a 10Gbs connection to their router.

Port 1: Direct connection to my main computer.

Port 2: Connected to a PC running PfSense.

Port 3: Connected to a wireless router with custom firmware. Secure wireless.

Port 4: Connected to a wireless router with custom firmware. Guest / Open wireless.

This will allow me to use a good portion of that 10 Gbps link.

But, But, But .... I want it even if it really is no different from being a petty their to take advantage of what I know is a mistake!

These are the same self entitled, spoiled brats that loot shoe stores to voice their dislike of cops.

Cisco Slaps Arista Networks With Suit For "Brazen" Patent Infringement

Dishevel Re:Come on people, (96 comments)

All I am saying is that when discussing something you never see you use a serious amount of caps.

Also there are a few legit reasons for AC posting. I do it once in a while when I want to post about something and not let it be known who I am. For reasons that have to do with my job. I do not work with any top secret clearances or anything but sometimes it is better if I am not identified.

FBI thinks Google is evil, Now.

Dishevel Dishevel writes  |  about 2 years ago

Dishevel (1105119) writes "In a story from Mike at TechDirt.
The last few weeks have been quite interesting in the world of NSLs, however. As we noted, a few weeks ago, a court in California ruled that NSLs were unconstitutional. And, now, it's come out that Google appears to be fighting an NSL, potentially in response to that very ruling. Of course, it appears that this news of Google fighting back wasn't supposed to be public either."

CNET steps in it again.

Dishevel Dishevel writes  |  about 2 years ago

Dishevel writes "CNET finally comes clean.
At CES CNET voted that Dish networks "Hopper" would be best of show. Of course CBS, owner of CNET steped in to kill that due to pending litigation over the Hopper.

Well they have finally come clean about it.
Sort of. My favorite part is these two quotes from the editor in chief of CNET Lindsey Turrentine.
First.
"Going forward, I will do everything within my power to prevent this situation from happening again."
Followed by.
"If I had to face this dilemma again, I would not quit. I stand by my team and the years of work they have put into making CNET what it is."
Hmmm
 "
