US Internet Offers 10Gbps Fiber In Minneapolis

Dishevel Re:The wireless router is the bottleneck. (110 comments)

Give me a 10Gbs connection to their router.

Port 1: Direct connection to my main computer.

Port 2: Connected to a PC running PfSense.

Port 3: Connected to a wireless router with custom firmware. Secure wireless.

Port 4: Connected to a wireless router with custom firmware. Guest / Open wireless.

This will allow me to use a good portion of that 10 Gbps link.

You also believe that if someone leaves their door open you can rob them blind. Right?

People like you are bad for society.

Dishevel Re:Hmmmm ... legality? (138 comments)

But, But, But .... I want it even if it really is no different from being a petty their to take advantage of what I know is a mistake!

These are the same self entitled, spoiled brats that loot shoe stores to voice their dislike of cops.

Could be that he is familiar with Ubuntu and would prefer to just move the stuff over with zero worry instead of very little worry.

Cisco Slaps Arista Networks With Suit For "Brazen" Patent Infringement

Dishevel Re:Come on people, (96 comments)

All I am saying is that when discussing something you never see you use a serious amount of caps.

Also there are a few legit reasons for AC posting. I do it once in a while when I want to post about something and not let it be known who I am. For reasons that have to do with my job. I do not work with any top secret clearances or anything but sometimes it is better if I am not identified.

Wow. For a guy who never sees ACs, you get a mighty piss on about them.

How the World's First Computer Was Rescued From the Scrap Heap

Dishevel Re:Ross Perot is awesome! (126 comments)

Administrations did hide the fact that POWs were still in Asia.

Getting them out would be hard at best and not guaranteed. Therefor, the best move in their opinion was to just get it out of site so it would be out of mind.

Same things have happened many times since on both side of the aisle. Inconvenient things are tossed aside to be forgotten. If they are not forgotten quickly enough then they are hidden.

Google Chrome Will Block All NPAPI Plugins By Default In January

Good thing you did not start working on the problem over a year ago when they announced they would be doing this.

Now you can be all surprised and put upon by evil Google.

Google Launches Service To Replace Web Ads With Subscriptions

Dishevel Re:Ads (319 comments)

I don't trust google to manage this. they ONLY do evil, these days, disguised as good.

if google is part of it, I want no part of it. sorry. but I already block anything that has a G domain in it. this would require me to unblock them and that is just 100% unacceptable to me.

we need a truly good company to help make this happen. google is not the way forward. google is PART OF THE PROBLEM!

So. You do not know how to capitalize proper nouns. You failed to capitalize the beginning of a sentence, but you do like to use capitalization to yell at people.

At least I know better than to listen to your argument, which has zero facts in it.

FBI thinks Google is evil, Now.

Dishevel Dishevel writes  |  about a year and a half ago

Dishevel (1105119) writes "In a story from Mike at TechDirt.
The last few weeks have been quite interesting in the world of NSLs, however. As we noted, a few weeks ago, a court in California ruled that NSLs were unconstitutional. And, now, it's come out that Google appears to be fighting an NSL, potentially in response to that very ruling. Of course, it appears that this news of Google fighting back wasn't supposed to be public either."

CNET steps in it again.

Dishevel Dishevel writes  |  about 2 years ago

Dishevel writes "CNET finally comes clean.
At CES CNET voted that Dish networks "Hopper" would be best of show. Of course CBS, owner of CNET steped in to kill that due to pending litigation over the Hopper.

Well they have finally come clean about it.
Sort of. My favorite part is these two quotes from the editor in chief of CNET Lindsey Turrentine.
First.
"Going forward, I will do everything within my power to prevent this situation from happening again."
Followed by.
"If I had to face this dilemma again, I would not quit. I stand by my team and the years of work they have put into making CNET what it is."
Hmmm
 "
