Swedish Pirate Party To Run Pirate Bay From Parliament

Exception Duck hmmm, bad use of swedish law (288 comments)

as much as I like getting the newest ${tvshow} I don't think this is a good way to go about it.

I am sure most people here are aware that the pirate bay is facilitating copyright violations, sure you might call it something else, same thing as google does ble ble ble.

This kind of misuse could seriously hurt the Swedish parliament...

Porn Industry Ready To Drop Flash

Exception Duck Re:The Porn Industry is never wrong... (249 comments)

Windows 8 will have 3D capability (whenever that comes out) - I think that should spark the 3d market a bit.

Bad thing about this is no longer will flashblock get rid of all the annoying blinking ads.

North Korean Flash Games For Export

Exception Duck Re:So... (211 comments)

Sometimes changing things from within is the best way. I think it's fair to say more communication with the outside world will have a more positive effect than just ignoring them completely (or bombing them, but since they don't have oil, I don't see that happening).

Professor Says UFO Studies Should Be Taught At Universities

Exception Duck What about Crop circles ? (311 comments)

from article

The main criticism of alleged non-human creation of crop circles is that while evidence of these origins, besides eyewitness testimonies, is essentially absent, many are definitely known to be the work of human pranksters and others can be adequately explained as such

Nokia Claims Apple Does "Legal Alchemy" To Mask IP Theft

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

On face value, Large american company vs. large Finnish company - I'll guess that the Finnish is probably in the right. Less greed in the society there.

Come on, how could somebody called Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo be in the wrong

Bill To Ban All Salt In Restaurant Cooking

Exception Duck Long since proved why (794 comments)

Although this is overdoing it allot I think the state of many americans are long overdue for some nanny state control. When other parts of the world are dying of hunger, americans are dying of fat.

But I'll agree this is just silly.

And I wonder what this means.
from the article: "each individual addition of salt"
is that 1 salt molecule ?

Digitizing and Geocoding Old Maps?

Exception Duck Re:Crowdsource the geocoding (235 comments)

Excellent idea, you would probably attract the attention of academics who have have knowledge of the area in question - historically - and can provide valuable input on modern locations and dimensions - since many of old maps vary in their scale internally.

Microsoft Giving Rival Browsers a Lift

Exception Duck Re:Why Join? (272 comments)

Hehe, this is an ongoing dispute.
I agree with you on many levels, the big problem now is our currency... I hope to get as much power out of the hands of Icelandic politicians as possible. I trust the bureaucrats in Brussels more than politicians.

The best idea I've heard recently is for Sweden,Iceland,Norway,Denmark,Faroe Islands,Finland and Greenland to form a new coalition.

Combined we would be one of the 10th largest economy in the world, coming before Russia even.

Bank of the people, local government bank.

Exception Duck Exception Duck writes  |  more than 4 years ago

Exception Duck (1524809) writes "This sounds like a great idea too me, coming from a country where the banks have pretty much ruined everything — and we have had to bail them out. How about power to the people again. Screw the bankers, and nationalize it (this case ownership in the hands of the city). I've haven't read similiar stories but they don't go to load — can imagine it's not to popular with the powers that be. Anyone have any experience of this from their local government ?"
