Soon enough, you won't have to watch the road and suddenly having your smartphone integrated with your vehicle will be a good thing.

Once Again, Baltimore Police Arrest a Person For Recording Them

FatAlb3rt Re:Fire all the officers? (515 comments)

Gangsters? You and OP look to be in the same clan when he claims they're doing this "in a rather violent manner". Hyperbole much?

What Will It Take To Make Automated Vehicles Legal In the US?

FatAlb3rt Re:For Starters (320 comments)

Huh? That makes it sound like even if accident rates and fatalities are reduced by a factor of 10, it's not worth it since they're not completely gone. You guys need to not even talk about a magic fix - no one is suggesting that.

Positive Ebola Test In Second Texas Health Worker

FatAlb3rt Re:their own fault (463 comments)

Body Substance Isolation. Seriously man, it's the first thing you learn. I'm only an EMT, but in any of our skills we were tested on, not calling out BSI was an automatic fail. I get that you're sympathetic to what they're trying to do, and they should be commended for it. But at what point are they negligent?

Positive Ebola Test In Second Texas Health Worker

FatAlb3rt Re:Just tell me (463 comments)

You fail statistics and understanding. First of all, the ratio of patients to health care workers is very different (read: Texas has a higher ratio). Second, you need to understand sample size before you start drawing conclusions.

First Man To Walk In Space Reveals How Mission Nearly Ended In Disaster

FatAlb3rt Re:really? A fireball? (122 comments)

High oxygen levels help make things that aren't otherwise considered flammable burn easily.

First Man To Walk In Space Reveals How Mission Nearly Ended In Disaster

FatAlb3rt Re:The Russian space program was amazing (122 comments)

Going away from the space shuttles had just as much to do with budget cuts - Congress simply isn't as interested in space exploration. Private companies will do it cheaper and we will eventually get back to something like a space shuttle.

More than likely not. There, now your turn to refute.

Seattle Passes Laws To Keep Residents From Wasting Food

FatAlb3rt Re:Another terrible article courtesy of samzenpus (385 comments)

I am pointing out that samzenpus is just a prime example of how political - and conservative - this site has become.

I assure you that the collective community is applauding your efforts to sleaze this place up. You've been around long enough to know that the old conservative vs liberal thing is a waste of electrons.

Climate Damage 'Irreversible' According Leaked Climate Report

FatAlb3rt Re:Delayed action (708 comments)

Ok, please lead by example. Spend 1/8 of your disposable income on operating more environmentally friendly. Solar panels on your house, more efficient appliances, pay a landscaper to plant trees.

Feds: Red Light Camera Firm Paid For Chicago Official's Car, Condo

FatAlb3rt Re:Pretty obvious (115 comments)

I'm not surprised. A local municipality pushed these through (which I'm not staunchly for nor against the cameras), and there was a bit of public outcry. To be fair, intersections were not configured consistently, and stops often could have been handled as yields, but anyway.

The council proposed putting the item up for vote, Redflex thought it would appropriate to sue the city.

The Flight of Gifted Engineers From NASA

FatAlb3rt Re:Too Much Bureaucracy (160 comments)

Same here - 8 years in flight design. Cool stuff at the beginning, but then you start seeing that the contractor companies care more about keeping seats warm and not making waves than progress and innovation.

White House Punts On Petition To Allow Tesla Direct Sales

You need to recall that this was Obama's Hope and Change idea. Can't blame for people expecting him to keep his word on ideas that he sponsored.
