RCMP Says Terror Plot Against Canadian Trains Thwarted

Fr05t Re:Via? (170 comments)

You mean the poor excuse for a rail system in Canada? Via has fallen into near non-existence in recent years. You might as well try and blow up a covered bridge out in the middle of nowhere to disrupt traffic flow.

If anything were to happen to the covered bridge in Hartland, New Brunswick I assure you, it would be very disruptive to the flow of traffic.

Delivering Medicine By UAV

Fr05t Makes sense (87 comments)

Once UAVs have delivered bombs to critical infrastructure, UAVs can deliver the things the infrastructure used to enable the delivery of. Maybe Disney can do a song about the circle of UAVs.

Why Has Blu-ray Failed To Catch Hold?

Fr05t 50% isn't that bad. (1162 comments)

50% market share isn't that bad is it? For a long time after DVDs came out VHS was still selling and renting well. Most people I know (including my parents) upgraded to Blu-Ray shortly after getting a >40" LCD.

George Lucas to Resurrect Dead Movie Stars?

Fr05t as well as? (296 comments)

"Even if Smith is lying, it makes you wonder how long it will be until Hollywood starts to recycle actors as well as scripts"

I think that last part should read "to recycle actors like they do scripts". Hollywood certainly doesn't recycle scripts well.

Game Publishers Pressuring Sony For PS3 Price Cut

Fr05t Re:Pc games easier to pirate than PS3 games (232 comments)

It's already easy to pirate everything else. I've had several friends buy PS3s once they realized it will play almost anything (mp3, wmv, divx, etc) without any DRM. Plus it upscales and looks great. When you add up the price of a great Bluray player (not all are created equal), an upconverting dvd player which plays divx, and a console the price isn't hard to justify.

Unlimited is no longer Unlimited with Telus

Fr05t Fr05t writes  |  more than 6 years ago

Fr05t (69968) writes "Telus Mobility started selling an "Unlimited" wireless internet (EVDO) plan in 2007, and signed up customers with the promise of unlimited high speed. Many were assured if they signed a 3 year contract this would not change. Apparently they took a page from Verizon Wireless and have begun imposing arbitrary bandwidth caps, and enforcing a very vague TOS clause to start canceling service. Here is a forum post with the letter being sent out, and a blog covering the issue. I guess Telus must not have heard how this turned out for Verizon."
