Largest Sodium Sulfur Battery Powers a Texas Town

Reminds me of the boom in wireless ISPs... telco claims prohibitive costs to lay new copper or fiber to a neighbourhood, instead a WISP comes along and at a cost of a few thousand dollars puts up an AP and we're off.

Killer Convicted, Using Dog DNA Database

HalifaxRage Re:TFA doesn't mention a dog DNA database... (97 comments)

Cause of male baldness discovered

HalifaxRage HalifaxRage writes  |  more than 3 years ago

HalifaxRage (640242) writes "Experts say they have discovered what they believe is the cause of male pattern baldness. It is not simply a lack of hair, but rather a problem with the new hair that is made. A manufacturing defect means the hair produced is so small it appears invisible to the naked eye, giving the classic bald spot or receding hairline. The US team told the Journal of Clinical Investigation the fault lies with the stem cells that make new hair."
