Is the Tesla Model S Pedal Placement A Safety Hazard?

LazyBoot Re:drive with two feet? (394 comments)

I have no real advice on what we should do about stick...perhaps the clutch is in the middle?

How would you operate something like that without making things more complicated?

I would think the same could be said of quite a few mid-engined gas-powered sports cars as well.

NVIDIA's G-Sync Is VSync Designed For LCDs (not CRTs)

LazyBoot Re:In English (139 comments)

Vsync still tend to add noticeable input lag even in games today. And some games still have issues with tearing even on lcd screens. So I'm guessing this is what they are trying to fix.

The problem is that the content-id system used, won't just target LPers... It also ends up going after reviewers and such.

Hacker Skips SimCity Full-Time Network Requirement

LazyBoot Re:Not a huge surprise... (303 comments)

Polygon did OK by updating their review, but I think Metacritic still has SimCity somewhere in the 60s ... which is about 60 points more than EA and Maxis deserve.

That's probably also because metacritic won't accept updated scores, and will only use the first one...

Valve Officially Launches TV-Friendly Steam Big Picture Mode

LazyBoot Re:only HDMI? (140 comments)

From my limited testing, it will just open on whatever display you have. What connector you use seems completly irrelevant (as it should be).
I was using dvi on my normal monitor just to test it.

The Condescending UI

LazyBoot Re:Windows 7 theme (980 comments)

Additionally, in XP if I have multiple windows of an app open and there is room on the taskbar, they show as separate instances. In Win 7, they show as a single instance and I have to pick them out when I hover the mouse over them.

It's really simple to get that functionality back in windows 7 though. Also makes it easier too see if a program is running or just a "shortcut".

That's odd, mine works just like xp did in that regard. Maybe some of my registry tweaks have something to do with that...
