LiquidPaper Re:Sneaky. (90 comments)

I agree with you. But propaganda MUST be clearly identified as such. Thats why you have the [Advertisement] logo on newspapers or in the Google search page.

LiquidPaper Huawei may be compromised. (215 comments)

Oh! Now I understand why they made me change all my Huawei hardware for Cisco. I thought it was only part of the economy war, but now I understand it was for safety.

Yeah! Safety.

Your preferred Linux distribution for 2013?

LiquidPaper Debian (x3) and Xubuntu (627 comments)

I use a couple, Debian on servers and Xubuntu on my desktop.

I tried to use Gentoo on my machine (I take pride on using the oldest laptop on site) but it was taking to long to get it working on my work machine. I would like to use it if I had a a second laptop to swap.

Crowdsourcing Big Brother In Lancaster, PA

LiquidPaper Re:Ahhh, Slashdot (440 comments)

Did you really read the table?
Note says

Deaths per passenger mile should also be considered as a basic risk measure when comparing risks amongst various modes of transportation. Since the average number of passengers in an aircraft far exceeds the average number of passengers in a motor vehicle, the passenger mile risk of air carrier transportation is significantly less than that of motor vehicle transportation.

Assuming 2 persons in a car, and 200 passengers in one plane, the risk is reduced by 100!.
You are welcome.

Israel Bans IPads From America

LiquidPaper LiquidPaper writes  |  more than 4 years ago

LiquidPaper (69881) writes "Israeli Customs is confiscating the devices upon entry. Authorities have already seized roughly 10 iPads, according to the Associated Press, and tourists who bring their iPads into the country will have to get them back when they leave. (Though, having dealt with Israeli Customs before, I have a feeling that won't be as simple as it sounds.)
The Israeli Communications Ministry blames the iPad's Wi-Fi, which supposedly uses low-powered "American standards" as opposed to the "European standards" on which Israel relies for electronics."
