Steam Controller Drops Touchscreen

Merls the Sneaky Re:It's a design around (84 comments)

In practice left - right or up- down is still horrible. You will tear your thumb up on the separating plastic playing a fighting game with any of those type of combo's.

True, I have one of those controllers. Problem is it isn't that great either.

Steam Controller Drops Touchscreen

Merls the Sneaky D pad (84 comments)

Why the seperate up down left right buttons? Put a decent D pad on there. The seperate buttons instead of a good D pad is why I hate the all Sony controllers. Xbox can't make a decent D pad. Can anyone make a decent D pad anymore.

Should Facebook 'Likes' Count As Commercial Endorsements?

Merls the Sneaky Re:Ummmm .... (189 comments)

It would be if you trademarked your face. Trademark your face / image and you could sue facebook for trademark infringement.

Rap Genius Returns To Google Search Rankings

Merls the Sneaky Re:Rap "Genius"? (115 comments)

Ad hominem attack, nice to see you keeping it classy!

1) Popularity does not always equal quality, but I never claimed it had to be quality. You said it took no talent therefore anyone can do it.
2) I never claimed talking = music. I consider rap to be more akin to poetry. But you will find rap in the music charts, along with many other "artists" a lot of people also consider to not have any talent.
3) You're claiming it takes no talent and with a payout like that why wouldn't you? Unless of course it does take some sort of talent that you don't have.

I'm not your "homie", I don't even know anyone that owns a gun, nor do I work in the music industry, additionally someone that opens with an ad hominem attack is not an intellectual and certainly not superior.

Rap Genius Returns To Google Search Rankings

Merls the Sneaky Re:Rap "Genius"? (115 comments)

Before either poetry or rap is spoken aloud they can both be words written on a page. Both can also not be written on a page. The page is just a recording medium. or can poetry not be recorded on a CD and still be considered poetry?

Rap Genius Returns To Google Search Rankings

Merls the Sneaky Re:Rap "Genius"? (115 comments)

Even if I accept your premise that rap is "bad music", I have heard rap that is very good poetry. It takes a skilled linguist to write good rap as it does to write good poetry and there are good and bad examples of both. To me rap is modern day poetry with a beat. look outside the pop charts for the good stuff and you will find it.

France's 'Culture Tax' Could Hit YouTube and Facebook

Merls the Sneaky Re:Dubbing is hardly "original product" (314 comments)

I hate subtitles with a furious passion. Even if I'm watching an english movie with foreign subs they draw my eye and take away from the experience. I can only tolerate with them for small periods where they are translating foreign speech into english text.

Gate One Will Support X11: Fast Enough To Run VLC In Your Browser

Merls the Sneaky Re: The network says no (164 comments)

I can get pings as low as 180 ms from Sydney to LA. maybe that's what they tell people to make them go away. Distance to LA to Washington DC 2,297 miles, LA to Sydney 7497.06 miles. Unless your connection is international the "distances involved" is a poor excuse indeed.

Microsoft Takes Another Stab At Tablets, Unveils Surface 2, Surface 2 Pro

Merls the Sneaky Re: Why aim for shrinking Market share. (381 comments)

I know I do. The browser I use on android, dolphin, has easy setting to do it. A lot of people ask me how to use flash on android and I recommend them dolphin and then they ask how to show "normal" websites. So I show them that too. I am personally responsible for about 30 people spoofing user agent strings, even though none of them know that's what they are doing.

Biggest Headache For Game Developers: Abusive Fans

Merls the Sneaky Re:Couldn't have happened to nicer people... (381 comments)

Imagine somebody coming up to the counter of whatever supermarket you work at and start verbally abusing you for decissions made by some upper level management people.

Do you think that doesn't happen? I have seen that shit in both poor and rich neighborhoods, actually it happens more in the rich neighborhoods than the poorer ones. Must be something to do with poor people having worked in retail/customer service at some point before. It happens in every customer facing industry that I know of,(yes threats of physical violence) just on web forums there is some kind of record.

And if you're over 16 and judging others on how they spend their free time on an internet forum, you are a loser, also an asshole hypocrite, and probably a troll.

Merls the Sneaky (1031058) writes ""I'm sorry to hear the titles you purchased from the iTunes Store with account " — " were lost. I know how upsetting that can be, so Apple will let you redownload (at no charge) all the titles you purchased on this account that are still available. Please note that you may download your iTunes Store purchases only once, so this is a one-time exception."

Ok, sounds great. However, as I read on, I learned the dark secret of the iTunes store, namely, not all songs can be re-downloaded.
