Harold Ramis Dies At 69

MobileTatsu-NJG Good by Mr. Ramis (136 comments)

"Doe.... Ray.... Egon!" *smirk*

The developmental years of my life would have been very different if not for his specific influence on them. Fare well Mr. Ramis, and thank you.

Behind the Scenes of Wii U Software Development

MobileTatsu-NJG Re:People actually liked the controller? (92 comments)

Replying to undo accidental negative mod. I might as well explain myself: I wanted to mark this as insightful because I recently came into possession of one of these consoles and have found the controller to be quite comfortable. For me the big feature of it is the audio coming from the controller itself. Yeah, the speakers aren't as good as those on my TV, but the stereo separation from a source that close is great!

Nintendo really did do something great with the controller, here. Pity the software library is still catching up.

My apologies for my pulldown-clumsiness, Sockatume.

Visionary Nintendo President Yamauchi Dies

MobileTatsu-NJG Farewell Mr. Yamauchi (201 comments)

The Nintendo that Mr. Yamauchi built has has such a entertaining and positive influence on my life that I just couldn't let this story go by without saying: Thank, farewell, and your legacy lives on.

So does this include my 3G AT&T phone that shows an icon claiming it's 4G?

UK Man Arrested For Offensive Joke Posted On Facebook

MobileTatsu-NJG Re:context (606 comments)

I'm not sure where I am on whether or not that should be a crime, but I would like to point out that April's parents probably had their guts turn inside out upon hearing that remark.

If I were the one with the gavel, my first instinct would be to let him sweat the fear of jail for a few days then drop the case.

Automated DMCA Takedown Notices Request Censorship of Legitimate Sites

MobileTatsu-NJG Re:Takedown the election (192 comments)

And that would differ..... how?

Since the recent debate Romney's popularity sharply dropped in the ages 3-8 demographic.

Ask Slashdot: What Were You Taught About Computers In High School?

MobileTatsu-NJG Re:In the US? Not so much... (632 comments)

Not that I want to defend the PE teacher, but in my class if someone found a game on one computer they'd dump it to a floppy and put it on their machine. Back then viruses, instead of trying to mail your data out, attempted to destroy the machine. He unintentionally had a point.

DNA Analysis Probes the End of Human-Neanderthal Sex

MobileTatsu-NJG Re:Last sex 37,000-86,000 years ago (160 comments)

And that's still better than most Slashdot readers.

When we're in charge the first order of business will be to make Ponn-Farr mandatory.

I do like how my post was modded down even though the summary mentions Apple when it's irrelevent.

Nokia Keeps Quietly Mapping The World

MobileTatsu-NJG Re:Feel the hate, my hateful friends! (197 comments)

Don't you think perhaps that's why sane people mock you the way we mock scientology and other douchbaggery?

Just because a bunch of noisy people agree with you doesn't mean you're sane.

Actually, Apple has made noticeable strides in improving their maps. It'll be interesting to see if Slashdot ever gets around to posting that story.

Laser Strikes On Aircraft Becoming Epidemic

MobileTatsu-NJG Re:Find a technical solution, not a legal "solutio (687 comments)

No, you do not want a technical fix to a social problem. What'll happen is people will start blaming their bad behaviour on technology. "Well it's Boeing's fault they made the cockpit's glass able to filter out green lasers and not this blue one I made from an old PS3!"

Frankly, I don't see why you think jail isn't a deterrent. Just reading this story makes me never want to even own a green laser.
