If There Was More Firefly, How Would You Want It?

Mutagenic Re:I second Direct-to-DVD / iTunes release (327 comments)

this is a idea i have been thinking about for some time. The average one hour TV program has 20 min of ad's sold at $25,000 per 30sec spot (a good rate for national distribution). 40 ad's @ 20min = 1mil. then screw the apple koolade drinkers and give it away via free download. by far the vast majority of people would watch the ad's like recent studies of DVR owners has shown. wa-la new media old ad model

First Program in FORTRAN Runs (1954)

Mutagenic Mutagenic writes  |  more than 7 years ago

Mutagenic (1105159) writes "Fortran is a computer language whose name is a blend of the words "formula" and "translation." Developed in the 1950s by John Backus, its many versions are still in use today as the primary language for some of the most intensive supercomputing tasks, such as weather/climate modeling, computational chemistry, quantum chromodynamics, and simulation of automobile crash dynamics. Why is Fortran primarily used for scientific and numerical tasks?"
