iPhone 4's "Retina Display" Claims Challenged

Poltras Re:Real Ratina Display (476 comments)

If they say 12, it is. Analogy to your argument: "2+2 = 3, except that everyone writes 4, so we're not lying".

Blu-ray Adoption Soft, More Still Own HD DVD

Poltras HDDVD in laptops? (685 comments)

My girlfriend has an HP laptop and bought it at around 800$ a year and a half ago. It has an HD-DVD. She never used it (except for reading standard DVD). Does she still count toward this idiot statistic? Likewise, how many have HD-DVD discs around? Just for myself, I have way more blu-ray than all my friends have HD-DVD (even if you remove my PS3 games). Crazy, uh?

The Problem With Estimating Linux Desktop Market Share

Poltras Re:Guesstimates? (409 comments)

Now, every time I hear the word estimate, I assume that the number started from some actual data, rather than from someone's rectum.

Except for estimates of colonoscopy, I guess.

US Military Issuing iPod Touches To Soldiers

Poltras Re:The real question is.... (323 comments)

You can do whatever you want. You don't have an EULA with the enterprise program. Apple told us so when we were looking to reverse some API to obtain cell towers informations. We wanted to be legit and know Apple's opinion; they told us we could do it with their enterprise program, but we'd be limited to iPhones which have the correct certificate (registered with the iPhone enterprise manager).

The NYT Compares Broadband Upgrade Costs in US, Japan

Poltras Re:Crazy (257 comments)

Please compare with Canada, where population density is lower than the US, and we still have better speed with lower prices. That argument is an excuse more than anything else.

Why aren't there good cost and speed in big cities like New York and Los Angeles, then?
