Pakistan Bans Encryption

Schemat1c Re:no remote workers (351 comments)

They won't have anymore telecommuters. One of our workers awhile back was resident in pakistan. No way are we going to let our data over the wire in the clear, so we can't hire from there anymore.

Guess what? There are plenty of people in your own country that would be happy to work for you. They just won't do it for slave wages, what a shame.

Measles Resurgent Due To Fear of Vaccination

Schemat1c Re:goddamn baby boomers ruin everything! (668 comments)

The baby boomer generation is the greatest generation's GREATEST FAILURE.

And the boomers greatest failure is raising a bunch of whiny blame-shifters who would rather bitch and moan than get off of their hipster asses and participate in society.

There's Been a Leak At WikiLeaks

RealNetworks Sues Dutch Webmaster Over Hyperlink To Freeware

As you might have noticed, US or US companies don't seem to have any problems at forcing their laws down other nationals.

It's what we do best.

Do You Want Best Buy Opening Your New Laptop?

Schemat1c Re:Why.... (543 comments)

As soon as iOS5 removes the need for a PC, expect the iPad to accelerate it's genocide of the "normal" computer we're all used to.

Sure the iPad is a cute toy for the execs and they are really pushing them to doctors as well but they will fill their niches soon and plateau. Typical of all Apple products, sexy and expensive but the glitter wears off fast.

Meanwhile legions of PC users are actually getting work done...

Michael Mann Vindicated (Again) Over Climategate

You just described your own post.

Interview With 'Idiot' Behind Key Software Patent

Schemat1c Re:Double standards and people (223 comments)

I say 80% of evil on earth is ignorance-driven.

I would say most types of behavior we would call 'evil' stems from lack of empathy rather than just plain ignorance.

Remember, the people in Congress are always up for re-election (unless retiring).

Now if a few groups like The Eagles decide to make this a public issue, then their fans may be persuaded to vote in a different person who is more agreeable to The Eagles' argument.

It is well known that the candidate who drops the most money on his/her campaign is the one who 'wins'. There is a lot of money out there for politicians who are willing to support the desires of these parasites, especially now that money has been ruled 'free speech'.

Hackers Steal Kroger's Customer List

Schemat1c Re:Who else is using Epsilon? (185 comments)

So Kroger's customer list is stolen from Epsilon! I wonder what other companies are using Epsilon to manage their customer list. So we need to identify who is managing the client list of Epsilon. If that site is known to be hackable .. hee... hee... :-)

I found an email this morning from Usbank telling me that they use Epsilon and that my email address was among the stolen files. I did a Google search and apparently Chase also uses the service.

This isn't good.

Gadgets For the Ghosthunter

Schemat1c Re:I think most of it is crap... (345 comments)

EVP and IR camera's can and do pick strange readings. Readings that aren't easily picked out. whether or not they are ghosts is something else, but there are readings that shouldn't be possible with our understanding of the physical world.

Take an IR camera, and a regular camera, strap them together to they record separately but identical images(offset slight of course) and walk around some of these "haunted" places. it may take a week or so but you will pick up things on the IR camera that isn't recorded by the regular camera. IR camera's can detect heat flows but a heat flow that randomly appears lasts for 5 seconds and disappears is unusual.

Better yet, take the IR camera outside to look through girls dresses.

Did I say that out loud?

From Redmond With Love

Schemat1c Re:In before dumb comments about the cake being a (140 comments)

I know. I'm just purposefully calling him out because it's the same person who's been hounding me about it. Hint: I know it's the same person because it's been over a year since I had that sig and he's the only person to complain about it.

Nope, don't flatter yourself. I just hate spammers that join forum discussions just to lure people to their spam links. I had had a few beers and threw some nerd rage your way.

Oracle Could Reap $1 Million For Domain

Schemat1c Re:Many domains are worth more. (183 comments)

Well as an advertising site, they could donate it to NASA (possibly also other space agencies as a joint effort) and sponsor the creation of a web site based all around information about this solar system and promote the peaceful exploration and development of the rest of our solar system. Thus attempt to start creating a better public image.

I don't mean to rain on your parade but the whole American space program is the work of German Nazi scientists who developed rockets and were scooped up after the war... But you've got to hand it to them when it comes to business... That's one of their biggest strengths.... Scientist can always be bought and imported...

No. Only minds that have been infested with the vapid zombie meme see zombie' when 'dead people' is written.

Duke Nukem Forever Teaser to be Released Tomorrow

Schemat1c Schemat1c writes  |  more than 6 years ago

Schemat1c writes "From the 3DRealms official forums comes this announcement:
"Last Saturday we had our annual company Christmas party. It was a lot of fun as usual but it featured one special surprise. It turns out that several people had been secretly working late nights and into the wee hours of the morning preparing a special video for those at the party. They created a short teaser for Duke Nukem Forever. After seeing the teaser we thought it was something we should share with all of you and while it's just a teaser, rest assured more is coming. Tomorrow, Wednesday the 19th, around noon CST, we will release the first teaser trailer from Duke Nukem Forever. To tide you over until then, here is a screen shot taken from the teaser. Thank you for being fans of the game and for your continued patience.""

Fan Boy Takes Han's Place in Carbonite

Schemat1c Schemat1c writes  |  about 7 years ago

Schemat1c writes "In a move that could only be called sacrilege a Star Wars fan boy buys the 'Han frozen in carbonite' prop, saws off Han's face and replaces it with a cast of his own ugly mug. This has to be one of the coolest movies props ever only to be completely destroyed by some over inflated ego. I, for one, am saddened."
