Marvel's New Thor Will Be a Woman

SensitiveMale Re:I bet this is part of the whole "Sif & Warr (588 comments)

Well yes and no. They could sell all of their trademarks and IP for $10 and that would be making money. Shoving something out just for a short term gain isn't always the best plan.

Marvel's New Thor Will Be a Woman

SensitiveMale I bet this is part of the whole "Sif & Warrior (588 comments)

I think Marvel & Paramount really wanted to push Sif & the warriors 3 into a spin off. The problem was they were a bunch of pussies in the first Thor and they were even weaker in the second. This is a a blatant money grab and a not very original one.

Marvel's New Thor Will Be a Woman

SensitiveMale Re:Pussy whipped bullshit (588 comments)

Better than someone with so little mental fortitude that they going into a bawling rage over a slight casting change on a comic-book they don't even read.

I don't think a comment of "sad" qualifies as a "bawling rage" and I don't think "a staple of the Marvel Universe and Norse mythology" being changed into a woman is "slight."

Theater Chain Bans Google Glass

SensitiveMale I'm stunned at the tone deafness of these people (376 comments)

These glassholes, for lack of a better term, walk around and act like they are shocked when others don't want a camera on them all of the time.

It is just like if someone walked around holding their phone/camcorder/camera in front of him all of the time and was pointing it everywhere he looked. No one wants that. These glassholes act as they have some sort of inalienable right and if someone complains then their civil liberties have been violated by a glassist.

The Ethics Cloud Over Ballmer's $2 Billion B-Ball Buy

SensitiveMale Re:Racism or Thought Police? (398 comments)

Further, it's absolutely absurd to say that he's being unfairly characterized as racist due to "one minute of [his] private speech".

But I didn't say that.

Sure, he had a history or winning and losing such cases. I'm not saying he wasn't a racist. But that behavior was KNOWN by the NBA & NAACP and overlooked. This is about the tape.

The Ethics Cloud Over Ballmer's $2 Billion B-Ball Buy

SensitiveMale Re:Racism or Thought Police? (398 comments)

Yeah, but privacy and free speech and all that only applies if you're saying politically-correct stuff. The second you say "nigger" or even mildly criticize some protected group YOU MUST BE DESTROYED!!!!!

That's the odd thing. Sterling didn't even use a slur. From what I understood of the tape, he didn't even have a problem with minorities. He told his girlfriend that she could sleep with anyone she wanted. Again, no slurs. Just don't brag about her boyfriends on Instragram or bring them to the game in public.

He didn't tell his ticket sellers not to sell to minorities. He didn't use any slurs. He employed, from what I understand was a general consensus, the worst GM in the NBA for over 20 years who happened to be a minority. He hired a minority coach.

He was illegally recorded and punished for something he said in the privacy of his own home, not for something he did. Not to mention he was goaded. Listen to the tape. She knew what she wanted him to say and she kept at it until he said it.

This is very scary stuff because there isn't one person alive who wouldn't be ostracized, using this ruler, if a select one minute of their private speech was made public.

The Ethics Cloud Over Ballmer's $2 Billion B-Ball Buy

SensitiveMale Re:pishaw (398 comments)

What property did he "forfeit" by the way? He didn't lose anything - he SOLD his property on the market for $2.2 billion.

Let's see you own something so rare that only 30 other people in the world own and be forced to sell it. See if you think that isn't losing property.

If he's got a problem with his private conversation being recorded, then he needs to sue whoever recorded and leaked it.

What good would that do? He can't get the team back and she can't compensate what he's lost.

The 69 Words GM Employees Can Never Say

SensitiveMale You can thank legal for that. (373 comments)

Years ago, I remember reading an interview with a GM former employee and he talked about advances in safety. He said, paraphrasing, that GM discovered hundreds of ways each year to improve safety related equipment through R&D and testing, but lawyers prevented from implementing the changes. The lawyers reasoned that the older equipment still passed safety regulations and implementing the improved equipment could open GM to legal action.

Actual Results of Crimean Secession Vote Leaked

SensitiveMale Re:well (557 comments)

Florida resides in two time zones and the northwest "handle" of Florida is heavily Republican. Many voters left lines while voting was open once Florida was called for Gore. IF that hadn't have happened, the recount wouldn't have been close at all.

Having lived in the Panhandle, I very seriously doubt that people who left the lines were Republican. We used to have the term "Yellow Dog Democrat", meaning that the person in question would vote for a yellow hound dog rather than a Republican, but that was back when Democrats were the Party of the (white conservative) South. Before they all started calling themselves Republicans.

In other words, I think that the Panhandle Republicans would have cheerfully stood in line until the next morning if there was even the faintest moonshine of a hope that it would keep an evul Librul tree-hugger like Gore from taking the White House.

Being curious, I did a quick search and found this graphic http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election_in_Florida,_2000 The panhandle is heavily Republican.

I agree with you 100% about the panhandle Republicans cheerfully standing in line to prevent Gore from winning. But that isn't what happened. All of the news outlets had projected Gore to win. So the people who were waiting in line thought "Why bother waiting if the election in Florida is over"?

Actual Results of Crimean Secession Vote Leaked

SensitiveMale Re:well (557 comments)

IF one of the more liberal areas of Florida didn't add negative votes for Gore it might have made a difference too. There are a number of local rumors floating around that physical ballot boxes "ended up in the Halifax River" too according to locals, but we'll leave rumors aside and stick to just the "Volusia Error" as an example of voting anomalies in the I-4 corridor since it is well documented. The Panhandle made no difference. Keep in mind few people live in the panhandle that are actually in Central time and vote in Florida. The voting recounts were due to anomalies in metropolitan left-leaning areas, and to set the record straight Gore wanted a Statewide recount but the court ruling was that it wasn't required.

Gore requested recounts in only 4 counties. "Gore requested manual recounts in four Florida counties: Volusia, Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade, which are counties that traditionally vote Democratic and would be expected to garner more votes for Gore. Gore did not, however, request any recounts in counties that traditionally vote Republican." That's from wikipedia but you can find lots of other cites if you want.

I agree that there were only a few votes in the panhandle that would have been in the majority for Bush. IIRC, it was projected 10k to 20k. Not many in the overall scheme of things. However, when a recall is decided by a few hundred votes adding ten to twenty thousand to one side makes a big difference.

Actual Results of Crimean Secession Vote Leaked

SensitiveMale Re:well (557 comments)

Gore lost on every recount. Get over it.

Yes, every single one. Don't forget that Gore tried to goose the results by having only Dem heavy counties recounted rather than the entire state.

One last thing that just about no one knows about. All of the major news outlets proclaimed Florida to Gore before voting was finished in Florida. Florida resides in two time zones and the northwest "handle" of Florida is heavily Republican. Many voters left lines while voting was open once Florida was called for Gore. IF that hadn't have happened, the recount wouldn't have been close at all.

The Koch Brothers Attack On Solar Energy

SensitiveMale Solar and wind ARE NOT long term threats (769 comments)

Solar and wind are only viable when generously subsidized. Add in that Obama with the militant EPA are putting coal powered plants out of business. Obama stated that energy prices under his plan "would necessarily skyrocket" and that is exactly what is happening.

Just wait until the summer CA. When all of those coal plants are out of business and there is a shortage of electricity. Remember the rolling brownouts a decade ago? Those will be nothing compared to the blackouts where there just won't be any electricity.

"You reap what you sow" will never be more true after the coal powered plants are forced out of business.

L.A. Science Teacher Suspended Over Student Science Fair Projects

SensitiveMale Re:Its the anti-gun agenda, seriously, read articl (253 comments)

Lets burn the lawyers offices down. Everyone is so freaking terrified of a lawsuit that nothing happens.

Its not fear of lawyers, its an anti-gun agenda. I'm not kidding, from the article:

“supervising the building, research and development of imitation weapons.”

Fucking exactly right. Anti-gun liberal extremists is the problem.

Sell off the stock that is generating them funds. Have fun explaining why fees are even higher.

Such economic strategy takes a university mind.
