Inferring Personality From Email Addresses

SmellMyTeenSpirit bad thinking? (309 comments)

So the only example in the summary is wrong. And you can tell by reading the summary. Bravo.

They looked at six personality traits (neuroticism, extraversion, openness, agreeableness, conscientiousness and narcissism) and found that extroversion was not consistently predicted based on email address alone.

The other five traits were not only consistently agreed upon by the participants, but they matched up with user's descriptions of their own personalities.

Apparently by skipping the entire content of the paper you missed the point.

Examining the UFOs over NYC

SmellMyTeenSpirit SmellMyTeenSpirit writes  |  more than 4 years ago

SmellMyTeenSpirit (207288) writes "On October 13, 2010, various areal phenomena were reported by major news networks [huffington post, fox, abc] and filmed above Chelsea, New York. Though it seems relatively easy to establish conventional explanations for most of what was seen, there remains the odd fact that a major UFO sighting was recently predicted to occur on October 13, 2010. This blog post presents the relevant evidence in a clear and systematic way so that you can make up your own mind."

I am a Navy Brat. I am not employed by the Navy, the US government, or anyone in particular (when I can avoid it).

Lately, I have been feeling a powerful stirring within me. Since I'm a bit old for it to be the onset of puberty, I assume it is Respect for Freedom.

I personally choose "freedom of speech" as my favorite Freedom.

I am commited to this idea, and I am not afraid to challenge Very Powerful conventions to express my commitment.

I do not include my contact information because I believe that I will make many enemies while expressing this freedom, and most of them have more money and allies than I do. I have no interest in leveling their cheating field.

They made the rules, and I'm going to play the game.
