NASA Knows How Mars Got a Jelly Doughnut

Sulphur Re:So in other words... (61 comments)

NASA are saying it is not a man-made object or the result of natural phenomena, but rather that it was put there by a probe from another planet!

Larry Page's Vocal Cords Are Partially Paralyzed

Sulphur Re:Only when (189 comments)

They want to channel all donations through them, and take a small % of the donations. And manage the donors. For some reason, all the major foundations hate that idea, especially the part where they give up the donors to the Gates Foundation. Gee, I wonder where that behavior came from.

I'm still eagerly waiting for people to show me the "innate value" of the dollar. Something that does not require me to go back to the times where conversion to gold was guaranteed.

Unsurprisingly, there are mechanism for both of these. And they don't need junk DNA - bacteria can evolve just fine and they have virtually no junk DNA .

Last Forking Warning For Bitcoin

Sulphur Re:Crap, the sky is falling (334 comments)

What technical problem is there?
It's just that the new Bitcoin and the old Bitcoin are becoming two different currencies. People need to convert all their old Bitcoins to new ones to avoid this.

Like old francs vs. new framcs.

Version 8 was quantitative easing.

If you check out the Wikipedia page on paper cuts you'll note that Paper Cuts have a Medical Billing Code.

Bloomberg Reporters Caught Spying On Terminal Users

Sulphur Re:Welcome to what web consumers have faced for ye (55 comments)

I was once called by a Bloomberg reporter who wanted a comment on the movement of a particularly thinly traded security that I owned. I asked her how she knew to call me, and she replied that I ran news and analytics on that specific ticker regularly on my Bloomberg terminal.

It makes me wonder how often I was front-run by Bloomberg reporters or their cronies over the years.
